** 2012 UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

@shiizzz where did you see that on myapplication?

@shizz

my girlfriend got the same hold message except that she’s Muir. I however, didn’t get it and im in warren. I’ve researched it a bit and from what I’ve read, it has to do something with getting your schedule approved by the counselor or about orientation or something. If you find out what it’s really about, let us know.

@itspat: home page of mytriton link in the yellow box for “holds”

@jaybyron: I will let you guys know if I find out. I’m not sure what it could be, except maybe it has something to do with me changing my major on the orientation site (from Sociology to Psychology). I’m going to email ERC and see what’s up, meanwhile, if anyone else has the same message and knows what it could be about, please post it on here!

@jaybyron, I emailed them…they obviously wont get back to me until tomorrow or the next day since it is the 4th of July today. The only reasons why I think I would have a hold on my record is either the change of major thing, or the fact that I have to get the TB form filled out and turned in by Aug. 3rd (because I indicated that I lived in Europe for a while in the 90’s). Do any of those two apply to your gf as well?

Housing just sent us another email! One more week till room selections! Yeeeeeee. :)) i’m super stoked haha. They converted some doubles into singles for is !! It’s like … $300-400 more than the regular single. Super hope all the singles don’t get taken up. :(

@dostranvia: I just read the email they sent! omg can’t wait till next week!!! :smiley: and wow super singles! I didn’t read the part about the prices of the super singles… thats quite expensivee but I really want a single! choosing the spaces will be hectic though because they expect us to finish within 10 minutes and I don’t really know anyone who’s going to live in the village lol.

I dunno why but I laughed when I read about super singles in the email. maybe it’s cause I know I won’t be living in one LOL. All I’m hoping for is that I end up with chill suitemates + chill roommate if I end up in a double. :)

When did you guys submit your housing contract?

^6/11 around 3pm. You?

I submitted my housing contract at 4pm on June 7th. I’m just curious because our room selection time corresponds to our contract submission time.

This is the email I got back from ERC regarding the administrative hold:

"We have received your email and are working to lift the hold.

The hold is there simply so that the academic counselor can review your course recommendations for your first quarter.

Every transfer student has this hold at this time and they are lifted as the academic counselors are able to process through each students recommended courses.

Hope this helps – just remain patient and the hold will be lifted as soon as possible.

-Thanks"

I have just notice on the village floor plans that some of the rooms dont have windows diagram…It’s hard to believe there is no windows. Hope it’s not true. Does anybody know???

Transfers have to send in AP scores? I took ap calc in high school and got a 2 on the ap test.
I’ve finished calc 3 at community college though.

If I still have to send in ap scores, how do i do that? Do I have to go back to my high school??

@Integraballer - If you reported AP scores on your UC Application, then it is recommended that you send in your scores by calling College Board (you can Google their number and the steps to order your scores to be sent). However, I believe only scores of 3 or higher on AP tests count for credit/units at UCs, so if AP Calc was the only one you took, you can ignore all of this.

@Integraballer The toll-free number for students trying to send AP scores is 1-888-308-0013 (assuming you live in the U.S, U.S territories, or Canada). It’s an automated machine that will give you choices on what you want to do, so it shouldnt take more than 5-10 minutes. Just as what @PrideN said, you should send AP scores if you said you took them in your UC Application, even if you only took one. As for you getting a 2 on the AP calc test, I think UCSD might accept that score because there’s an exception for AP Calc AB and BC scores. I’m not sure if that exception is for UCSD in general, or if it’s meant specifically for one of the 6 colleges though…

@prideN and @itspat

Thank you guys for answering my question. I really appreciate It :slight_smile:
I called that number and it says I need to provide my ap number. Which can be found in my ap packet or ap score report. I got that 2 years ago… I have no clue what happened to it. I think I threw it away thinking I didn’t pass the test, which I really didn’t.

Is there any way to retrieve that ap
Number? I tried te college board website but I’m unable to find it anywhere.

number

@Integraballer mm…you can try putting in your SSN in replacement of your AP number, unless you didnt put your SSN on your AP tests back in high school.

try calling customer service? (609) 771-7300 is the number that’s on CollegeBoard’s “Contact Us” page and 888-225-5427 is the number I found on a different collegeconfidential thread (yay google).

not sure which one you should call, but hopefully one of the two is the phone # you need. be prepared to answer questions so that they can verify you are you, and call early (especially if you live in the west coast area) since they’re in the Eastern time zone. hope this helps

Hey guys, I have a question. I broke one of the terms in the contract, the one requiring 2.0 quarterly gpa; I had a B+, C, and then 1 F, making my quarterly gpa 1.8. I’ve followed the other terms in the provisions. I don’t really have any reasons except being burnt out. Is this an automatic rescind?

@ Integ I had that same question except I took my AP in 2006 so I would have had to pay almost $40 to have them sent. I emailed UCSD and they told me as long as I took calc past that in college then I dont need to mail them. He said its mostly for placement and credit reasons so it was up to me. Because I took classes past that (calc 2 &3) I already had math credit, and placed higher than what the ap test would exempt me from, I dont have to send them. :slight_smile: I would suggest contacting them to find out if you actually need to send them, but from the sounds of it you don’t need to.

does anyone know how long it takes for UCSD to update the myapplication website? like for receiving transcripts and ap scores?
