Jp when did you start your apps? I’m considering getting them done before September so I can go ahead and just worry about my transcript

I started writing my essays in December and spent about a month on them (I had gone through three drafts for each essay by the end of winter break). I sent in my application at the very end of January. However, since I had less than 30 hours at the time, I sent in my second semester transcripts May 14th. Didn’t get accepted until June 18th.

Yeah I’m sorta in the same predicament. I think I told you before. My transcript probably won’t arrive until December so I’m assuming I’ll be notified in Jan.

Hi everyone! I applied for transfer into UT for the fall but was denied =( After reading from this thread I was kinda confused to why I wasn’t admitted… I was wondering if anyone knew if the prenursing major has a min. GPA requirement? I applied with a 3.54 GPA and they calculated it as a 3.46 =( My GPA currently is a 3.57 after spring grades and may go up to a 3.6 IF I can pull off a A for this summer microbiology summer class… please help!! Also congrats to all that got admitted for the fall!! Must be very exciting!! Hook 'Em!!!

Is anyone staying at the castilian?

Dobie. I prefer it over Castillian.

Hey, everyone! Since you guys have experience applying to UT, I thought I would ask my question here. I just finished my first year of college at a community college, and I didn’t do so well. By the end of this upcoming fall semester, I should finish up with a 3.31/3.6 (depending on how many classes I take) GPA. Let’s just got with 3.6 for my fall application. There’s nothing too excellent about me except about 100 hours in community service. I doubt that means anything though. If I hold off until this academic year is over to apply, I can apply with a 3.53 GPA and 65 credits, more community service, possibly a letter of recommendation, and a spectacular uphill trend as a spring transfer during fall 2014. If I apply as a spring transfer in, there will be two possible problems: One-Assuming I get accepted, I will only have three semesters to finish my requirements for a bachelor’s degree. So, should I apply during the fall and appeal with a 59 credits and a 3.49 GPA, or apply as a spring transfer with 65 credits and a 3.53 GPA. I will be applying to COLA and CNS or the college of education.

Apply during spring

I meant this: Let’s go with 3.36. Oops.

Hi!

I have a unique transfer situation. I was studying nursing at TWU and was admitted to the nursing school, but I don’t love nursing. I want to transfer to UT to study French. Do I have any chance of getting in?

I have a 3.7 GPA, LOTS of credit hours, little volunteer work, and no real work experience. But French shouldn’t be super competitive right?

Any advice would help!

im sure you would be accepted if you apply on time for spring. Most non competitive majors will Accept you as long as you have a 3.5+ GPA!

What are examples of the non-competitive majors? Are Government, Philosophy, or Econ one?

I don’t believe any of those are really competitive. Typically anything in the sciences, engineering, business, or communication are the only competitive majors. The ones you listed are part of Liberal arts which is pretty much the easiest college to get into.

As a history major that makes me feel more at ease. :-)

I thought the same way^

Does anyone know when I might get my refund check from UT for overpayment from my financial aid? I need it to buy textbooks, but im not sure when I’ll receive it. Thanks

@madison18 I got an email saying they would start releasing the money this week.

Where do parent loans get sent?

Has anyone made it in to their waitlist classes for the fall? I am still on all four of my waitlists and they haven’t changed since I added them at registration. I’m starting to get worried that I won’t be able to get into them.

i’m on all 4 of my wait list as well! 2 of them for calc. Mine moved me up 3 spots right before tuition was due but i’m still like 30ish & 2 of 6 for another course. My advisor says the most change happens after tuition payments are due and during the AddDrop period after classes begin! So remain hopeful fellow Transfer
