@fuzzyducky, same here! Still with the “bad” housing message and still under review… Do you remember if last year those last messages changed too long after the third batch, or was it around the same days?

@sbvett hmm from my recollection, I believe the good housing message came out within a day or two of the batch of decisions and they were accepted the next day… But not 100% sure… Hoping that’s the case!

Decision: Accepted! (4/25/13)

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): TAG! That’s about it.

I’ve been lurking this thread for the past week or so, and it initially gave me hope that I could still get in (seeing as this last batch was so late), so I thought I should post :). Also, if this means anything… my housing message had been the “good” one. Congrats everyone else who got in!

@fuzzyducky, thanks! I hope that’s the case too… I just looked on last years thread and there were also lots of wait listed people towards the end of April… Hoping that’s NOT the case
@elupton, congrats! And you give me hope, also bio major and also missing ochem! Hopefully we will be classmates soon, haha

Decision: Accepted

UC GPA: 3.93
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N):Yes
Intended Major: Human Biology
TAG?: No
IGETC?: Yes

Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): not much
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): probably my GPA and completion of pre-req since UCSD doesn’t really care about ECs, essays and all that

Got in to my second choice which was warren kinda bitter about it but still grateful that I’ve been admitted yay! Good luck to everyone else <3

@wintergreeen What was your first choice?

@zomgrad my first choice was muir! idk how they decide tho… do you think it’s related to your GPA?

Decision: Accepted! (4/25/13)

UC GPA: 3.79
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N): Yes
Intended Major: Computer Engineering
TAG?: No
IGETC?: No

Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): several
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Possibly.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): Personal statement and decent gpa.

*Anyone interested in trading colleges with me? Admitted to ERC and I am looking to get into Warren.

I don’t think it’s related to your GPA. I got my first choice of college but my GPA is lower than yours. Then again, I applied TAG, and I think TAG applicants are guaranteed their first choice college.

Kind of a bummer for me, actually. Revelle was my first choice, but a choice which I already regret haha

@ toastbread

I got into Warren, hope you get in! Congrats on the acceptance :)

@SBvett grrrrr I heard there was another batch released and I came over to this forum just to see if you were accepted! What is the matter with these people you should be in! I’m waiting to hear on UCLA and none of the “tricks” are working and it is making me ornery.

Decision: Accepted! (4/25/13)

UC GPA: 3.75
Major Pre-reqs Completed (Y/N): Yes
Intended Major: Molecular Biology
TAG?: No
IGETC?: No -----UC to UC

Extracurriculars (clubs, leadership, volunteer, work): club leadership. little volunteer and have a job.
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Female
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): No

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): my life struggle and GPA maybe. also i finish all the lower div prereq.

Housing tricks and financial aid tricks worked for me. lol.

@UCdrone are you a CE major as well? Does the curriculum differ from one college to another (say ERC vs Warren).

@eyespy, that is so kind of you! When I found out there was a new batch I started shaking… Only to sign on and still be under review, haha. I have no idea what my chances are at this point. But I’m really touched that you thought of me on this batch
About UCLA, isn’t the trick changing for people constantly? Much like UCSD’s housing trick? I hope you get into UCLA, but UCSD is also great school  so I’ll keep waiting for my UCSD messages to change, and for your UCLA tricks to work!

For those of you who are continuously checking your portals, there is really no need to check them excessively, as UCSD will email you when your status has changed. When I checked my portal at 8:30 this morning, my application was still in review. I received an email at noon stating that my status had changed (and some other information about Transfer Admit Day), so I checked my portal and I was accepted!

I know that this probably won’t stop any of you from constantly checking (I have been checking multiple times a day too), but know that an email will promptly inform you of any change.

Decision: Accepted.
Major: Bio-Physics.
GPA: 3.77 (not sure of my UC GPA because I’m out-of-state applicant…)

Why accepted? I guess it’s harder for someone from out-of-state four-year university to get in a top UC like San Diego. I was rejected early from Santa Barbara and Davis, which really turned me down and I clearly knew why they made that decision. I’m feeling great to be accepted at SD. I think I do have strong essays, which makes the admission staff love me as a person?

Housing message trick works? Yeah! I saw my message change very early and it turned out to be a good news.

Hello this is my first post here. I got accepted to SD today as a chem major. I was just wondering if they are still releasing decisions or have another batch coming out soon ? And also, has any physics major got in.
