@Pinkinkink That’s good to hear! I did indicate that I am not living on campus…

@Pinkinkink you’re awesome! I don’t remember indicating that I would not live on campus for UCSD specifically, but if that question ever popped up, I’m sure I selected off-campus, since I’m married and all that. Your information is really helpful!! That’s a lot of effort to find out about the tricks / concerns and I appreciate you calling them
I’m also planning on calling them tomorrow… I wanna ask and make sure they’re going to notify EVERYONE by the 30th… You never know, they may be thinking about extending the decision period until May… And SDSU’s SIR deadline is May 1st.
Anyway, I hope we still get in tomorrow or on the 30th. Good luck to all of us!!

I also put that my preference for housing was off-campus! I hope we get our answers tomorrow! I’m not sure that they will extend it passed April 30th, for the UC-system that’s unlikely, right? I was browsing through last year’s threads and I didn’t come across anyone who got accepted after April 30th–unless it was an appeal decision.

Good luck to everyone guys, I hope we’re all in the last acceptance batch. =)

Well, good luck to all!

Parting words:
Last year I only applied to UCI and they laughed me out of admissions. After one final academic renewal and more classes, UCI had to take me this year because I TAGGED! The best thing that ever happened to me was the UCI rejection! I would not have received aid (average grades). I applied for academic renewal last fall, and got in to every UC I applied to, and even got 2 full rides. Sometimes, you have to be thankful that you were rejected. Keep your eye on the ball, don’t pay attention to what anybody says.

I had a bit of complications in terms of my schooling details. Because I spent my high school days in the states while spending 2 years back in Hong Kong.

I think everything was finally sorted last week when they finally approved my ACT and SAT scores since I didn’t have IELTS.

@PapaBee, I see. I had to send them TOEFL scores from two years ago, and expensive evaluations of my foreign coursework. Make sure they are going to extend that SIR deadline for you, though, just in case! I called and emailed them a lot until everything was sorted out for my situation… I don’t know, I’d just advise you to be cautious. But other than that, good luck and I hope you get your decision soon
@WordofTeekz, I hope we all hear by tomorrow, too, but I wouldn’t put it past them, even being a UC, to be late in their decisions. I won’t calm down until I get my decision, haha. But it is reassuring to know they followed their deadline last year. I hope it happens again this year. :)

Ok, guys, I just got off the phone with an admissions representative…
First, I asked the first lady who picked up the phone if she knew when the last decisions would be sent out. She said “I have no idea”. Then I asked some more specific questions about my situation and she transferred me to someone else. This second person said that they have until the end of the month to release decisions, and some may be released up to and including Wednesday, May 1st, but nothing after that…
And if anyone is wondering, it’s okay to take a last IGETC class in the Summer (I had been told so before, but this is just more evidence), as long as it is not a major requirement or one of the seven required courses for transfer.
Technically, we could still have to wait until Wednesday. Let’s hope it doesn’t go that far… Enough waiting already!

@SBVett Thank you so much for calling and giving all of us that information! Now I wont check my admissions portal a million times today. Just a couple hundred until Wednesday. Puahaha! No seriously, thank you for calling them and inquiring about what everyone is eagerly waiting for.

@ PinInkInk and SBVett, thank you so much for all of your effort… Sometimes I’m really confident and other times im just like no way am I getting in… This is seriously mental torture lol… Lets all just try to keep our minds busy with other things as much as possible today… Hope this isn’t all in vain and we all see each other this fall and laugh about this. Almost over now… GOOD LUCK!

You’re welcome! I get so impatient not hearing ANYTHING. Seriously, ANYTHING they said would work to calm us down. They could post general updates on their twitter or news pages, right?? Like “last batch on April 30th”, “some decisions available now!” or anything like that… Not knowing is the torture
I just found out UCI admissions sent my application to their biological sciences department for further evaluation. I’m sure UCSD did something similar, although they didn’t say anything on the phone. I bet I’m one of those odd cases that take forever to be decided.
I bet I’m gonna be the very last decision they post, haha.
I sincerely wish all you guys the best of luck. @JCPB993, I also have that feeling - sometimes very confident, sometimes not confident at all. It would be amazing to be able to get together and laugh about this in the Fall. Let’s keep that in mind, haha!
Good luck!!

UCSD needs to release their decisions already!!! I still have the bad housing message so it makes me really nervous :(

they are STILL making people wait?!?!? I didnt get accepted until last thursday and I thought I had it bad D: good luck to everyone! Don’t lose hope!!!

Stay positive everyone, a friend of a friend got accepted ON April 30th when they applied! So there is definitely still hope for everyone who hasn’t heard back :)

I’ll totally join you all! If I get in

Lol I can’t help but laugh. And I don’t even know why I’m laughing.

Well, the wait is over for me. Just checked, and rejected.
Good luck to everyone else.
4.0 CCC GPA (66 units), 3.66 overall GPA considering foreign college coursework. Human bio major, missing Calculus 3 and Organic Chemistry 2, IGETC complete.

Waitlisted
3.24 GPA
poli sci

submitted my waitlist essay

Ahhh. Waitlisted. But better than getting rejected I guess.
3.25 Biochemistry major.

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for waitlisters? or if we can see as preliminary financial aid? Someone posted in a thread from last year that most transfers on the waitlist were accepted but who knows how credible that is.
