**2013 Fall UCSD Transfer Decisions Thread **

I was waitlisted too :frowning:
I don’t understand how this is possible because I met all of the TAG requirements. I should have been guaranteed admission… I also got into UCI, UCSB, UCLA, and UCB. I can’t believe that my first choice waitlisted me with all of these acceptances :(.

I’m going to call tomorrow and see if maybe there was some sort of mistake. If not, I’m not sure I’ll bother appealing. I might just SIR to UCLA.

Does anyone know how they determine who gets in off the waitlist? Like how much weight our 200 word essays have on the desicions (if any), etc.

Wait-list offered (I’m not taking it)

Major: Anthropology
GPA: 3.22
Pre-req/IGETC: Yes

Accepted: UCLA, UCSC
Rejected: UCB, UCSB

So I just saw this.

The information for the current application cycle won’t be available until the Fall. For Fall 2012, UCSD made 5,000 waitlist offers, 2,000 students opted in, and none were admitted."

@gamer142 thats for freshman, if you look at the 2012 ucsd transfer thread a ton of people got accepted off waitlist

@ Deluxe

Thank goodness! Good to know!

Can you guys pls post the link?

I was waitlisted as a transfer at UCSD around this time last year (3.30, Psychology). I did the 200 word essay and then kind of forgot about it until the first week of June when me and many other waitlisted CCers were accepted off the waitlist. I’ve heard that the way they accept people off the waitlist is by descending GPA order but I’m not sure if it is actually true or not.

Sent from my PG86100 using CC

Waitlisted

Major: Economics
Gpa: 3.4
Pre-req: Missing calc 2
IGETC: Done by Spring 2013

Thoughts: Well, better than rejected! Definitely going to submit my statement

Rejected. Biological sciences, 3.54
Lol definitely unfair, but whatever.
One thing I’ve learned this year: College acceptances are completely unfair at times, but I know it’s just preventing me from something bad. Guess I’ll just have to graduate with my degree from UCD!

Waitlisted
GPA : 3.34
Major : Economics
Prerequisite : missing calc 3
accepted : UCI
rejected : UCLA, CAL (knew that would happen)
thought i would get rejected but was waitlisted.
i am satisfied with UCI but opt-in for UCSD waitlist.

I am wondering if we get waitlisted for our first or second major (for those of you who indicated an alternative major)

REJECTED
GPA: 3.87
Major: Literature
IGETC: Done this semester
No idea why I got rejected, but I got in to Berkeley so it’s whatever

UPDATE!

So I spoke with an admissions officer to ask how it was possible for them to reject a TAG applicant. She put me on hold and fixed the status right there! I’ve read before that UCSD is notorious for accidentally rejecting people. So if there are any other TAG applicants out there that were rejected/waitlisted, call and ask them about it. It’s definitely worth a shot!

Accepted
UC GPA: 3.8
Major/pre reqs: Missing calc
Intended major: Human Biology
TAG: yes
IGETC: Yes

Will be going to transfer admit day if I can get out of work!

@sparrow2, Congratulations! Glad to hear the good news. Now it makes sense. Your housing message probably should have been changed earlier.

Congrats, sparrow!

Can any political science majors post the conditions if their provisional admissions contract? I’d like to specificly know the overall gpa minimum and gpa minimum for last regular term

I’ve opted in, practically begging that they admit me. Now, another very long wait…at least there’s still hope.

i was rejected with a 3.8 for EE, and i called admissions and found out that i marked one of my classes wrong so it messed up my igetc but the guy said i should have gotten in, do u guys think this is suitable to get in on an appeal? i dont know what they mean by errors when theyre talking about appeals… any info would help me, thanks

@ucsdps yes you should have gotten in. But what do u mean by you marked your class wrong? Do you mean you write the wrong class in the application?

yeah i entered in the wrong course title in my app, so it marked it as some course i never took and not igetc transferable so they thought i never completed the class. i just dunno if this is enough to get an appeal
