2014 Athlete Admissions Results

Since most college pages have one for RD applicants; I thought it might be a good idea to do one for recruited athletes. Include the colleges that you were recruited too and of those which you were accepted to.

^^nice idea but I’m not sure that informative for recruited athletes.

for my d it goes like this:

SAT: 2300 (800 math)
national champion athlete (stack of gold medals)
recruited by almost everyone

and most recruited athletes are only accepted by one school because they only apply to one school.

agree with pacheight.

Additionally, many folks want to remain anonymous here, and don’t feel free to openly share easily-identifiable information about their children. Posting the sport, the school, and the athletic stats that earned them recruiting attention generally points those who follow the sport to a specific kid. I’m certain my kids don’t want me posting their profiles on this website. I understand students do it on college-specific or “chances” threads, but there’s a lot more anonymity without the layer of athletic specificity. It’s not just athletes: I’m sure musicians would be the same. If you posted your stats and that you won a particular piano competition, people in that world would have you pegged.

I’m always happy to respond to PMs about Ivy track/XC and will share details about stats one on one.

I agree with pacheight and riverrunner’s observations.

Exactly, and for that reason the standard CC accepted/waitlisted/rejected format doesn’t really apply. The reality is, if a well-informed athlete approaches the recruiting process realistically, their chances of a waitlist or rejection are next to none.

Ivygolfer,

In lieu of your request, I can give you a pretty good idea of what it takes in this thread. What you will see are very strong AIs for these athletes.

Keep in mind this captures just the academic side of the equation. In addition, all of these athletes were in demand (athletically) by their current coaches & programs plus other coaches & programs.
