<p>I found out like 2 weeks ago that I DID NOT advance to district. But an hour ago I got an email saying I won a $2000 scholarship from my local lodge!!! So happy !</p>

<p>Thank you everyone! I was so mad and extremely disappointed I didn’t advance to district because I thought I had a decent shot at being a national finalist. I spent hours on my application and it included a ton of stuff. I’m so glad I got the local one, my lodge gave out 28 local scholarships!! That’s alot! And @chaptertwo I live in Alabama and my lodge is in Anniston, Al which is lodge 189</p>
<p>Congrats!! Still haven’t heard anything… I kept calling my lodge and they weren’t much help. I think they’ve forgotten about my application or something. 
And i don’t think they give out any scholarships. Kind of disappointed since I’ve put so much time and effort into this scholarship too. Oh well.</p>
<p>According to my contact In my state, the state committee was going to meet yesterday(sat the 25th). District judging necessarily would have to have been done by then so I would expect another email from the elks the next few days… The states have to send their selections to the national people by feb 12th so it is not long… </p>
<p>According to an Elks Scholars tweet, Elks should be sending out notification regarding applications advancing (or not) from district to state by the end of this week.</p>
