2014 Elks Mvs Scholarship

I received an email from the Elks National Foundation today and I did not advance. I am from North Carolina. While I’m kind of sad that I didn’t advance, I’m happy that I made it this far.

I just received an email notifying me again that I did not make it to nationals. (It said about the same thing as the letter I had received the other day.) Congrats to all that did advance! :)

I didn’t advance to nationals. Congrats to everyone else though! I’m happy to have gone as far as I did.

I didn’t advance either. Hoping I get some $ from the state office to make this a little worthwhile since my lodge and district didn’t award me any $.

@mich5225 same! It would be a shame to go through all this and have nothing more than a pat on the back to show for it. All the same though I’m not expecting anything. I just hope I get lucky with one of the other scholarships I applied to. Good luck to you!

i am a national finalist! ($4000 scholarship) and i received $400 from the state elk lodge association. i think i reported my family income a little bit too low though…so i’m wondering if the higher values in my FAFSA will be a problem

Texas.
Our son got email acknowledgment today that he is moving on to the national level, and receiving the $4,000 award. The Elks MVS has been a well-organized and great communicating scholarship group.

I didn’t advance, and am really hoping that the California/Hawaii office will give something (looking at past years, it seems like they might). Good luck to everyone advancing!

Didn’t advance to national level, but received $1000 from the state level in Michigan.

Moving on! I haven’t received any scholarship money yet so this os extra exciting.

My son received a following email yesterday. We are in Alabama.

“Your Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship application has been reviewed by the state judging committee. We are pleased to advise you that it has advanced to the national level. You are now a National Finalist, and will receive an Elks National Foundation scholarship of at least $4,000. Welcome to the Elks family!”

Didn’t advance to national Level, My local lodge contacted me but nothing from the State Lodge… Hopefully Regional lodges and Local lodges have scholarships!

Still haven’t been contacted when other girls from my school have. Hoping that this is good news. Is anyone else having this problem too?

Would anyone happen to know how important financial need is at the national level?

My son was notified via email from National Elks that he did not advance to the national level. Unfortunately, it appears that Mississippi does not award Elks scholarships at the local lodge, district, or state level, as we have received no notification of award. Best of luck to all those moving on to Nationals!!!

Got mail form CA/HI lodge and got $200. No advancement. While I did hope for a national scholarship, $200 still means like $50/hr for each hour I spent putting my scholarship package together.

@nhdmaniac I received $1,500 from CA/HI when I moved on. I was mailed a letter saying that, then I was notified of my national finalist status via the ENF like two days later.

DD received a letter today from MA indicating she’d been awarded $800 from the state even though she didn’t move on.

I didn’t advance to the nationals, but was hoping for something. I couldn’t stand waiting anymore so I found a contact email for my state’s lodge. Received email from them today that I will receive $1000 scholarship. Yippie! After all the rejects, I was starting to take things personal.

Didn’t make it to nationals but I did get $700 from my state’s lodge, which was a very nice surprise! :D
