Maybe there is still a slight chance I get a local scholarship

My daughter has not gotten an email yet. Maybe they are sending them out in batches.

I think the main reason I didn’t advance was cuz I wouldn’t need much financial assistance according to their scoring chart.

Congrats to everyone!

This is the email I received:

Dear --------:

Your Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship application has been reviewed by the Lodge judging committee. We are pleased to advise you that it has now been forwarded to the next level of judging.

As your application proceeds through the judging process, we will advise you of its progress through email notifications. Please note that the Elks National
Foundation administers only the 500 national scholarships. Some local Lodges
use our scholarship application to award their own scholarships. If you qualify
for one of those awards, the local Lodge will contact you directly. The Lodge
may also contact you to let you know that your application has proceeded to the next level of judging, as we have done.

Please note: The 500 MVS National Finalists will be notified by our office in late February 2014. To be eligible for an award, National Finalists will be required to submit a secondary application online, which will include an essay, college plans and scholarships/grants/aid/awards received to date. National Finalists will also be required to mail their FAFSA Student Aid Report and a Teacher Evaluation to the Elks National Foundation office in Chicago. This secondary application will have to be submitted online by March 7, 2014.

Thank you for entering the 2014 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest, and good luck in the next level of competition.
Sincerely,

Debbie Kahler Doles
Assistant Director
Elks National Foundation

DD got an email today that she’s a finalist.
AXA finalist too.

Advanced to the next level! Pretty sure that means district. Together, we move forth!

Omg I still didn’t get an email. I really hope the emails are sent by batches according to last names.

@tennischicaxo SAME! I didn’t advance.
I’m a coca cola semifinalist as well. I wish you luck!

Yes! I got the email telling me I advanced to the next level. I’m in Indiana by the way.

My app advanced as well. What does this mean?

My son won 6th place nationally from Elks in 2011 and I believe the next level means the state level. He actually never heard from the local lodge until after he heard that he was a state finalist.

I advanced! Finally, a scholarship that actually likes me! Although it might’ve been because not that many people applied to my local lodge lol. Congrats to every else

@detpeace

AH! Good luck to you too! We should be hearing back any day now!! :O

@owlet14

So many CokeScholars on here!! Good luck!!! :)

My S advanced to the next level. We’ve not heard from the local lodge yet, but we are excited he advanced. We live in an area where there were probably many applicants.

@IBWarrior - That is good information and congrats to your son! My son found out today he has advanced… not sure if that means to district or to state but either way we’re happy.

Good luck to everyone!

Still no email…

I’ve advanced (finally, after getting rejected from Coca Cola and basically every other online-based scholarship).

If you’re assuming that they’ve done emails by last name, here’s some news. I’m at the very end of the alphabet, so the fact that I’ve been notified makes me assume that if they were doing it by last name, everyone would have notifications. Check your spam emails, they might be in there.

@juliaax5 - I bet they are notifying by state and it will take a few days. Some people heard yesterday and some today. I bet you’ll hear something in the next couple days. If not, you should contact the National Elks since it appears they have all applications. Good luck… I hope you get good news soon.

I just wanna know if it’s talking about advancing to district or state??? If anybody knows, please post it. I’m pretty sure it’s talking about district

No email her either. I think they may be doing it by state or something. Maybe district. Fingers crossed for hose of us still waiting.
