Few in the class know how to write in cursive.

Gee…No wonder those thank you notes for graduation gifts were so difficult to complete!

…Is it sad that I actually remember some of those things, like, being told writing in cursive would be something we would use the rest of our lives and was important…Or toothpaste tubes that all laid down on the counter (I remember being excited over the new standing up ones, thinking they were so neat)…Or corded telephones (I twisted the cord aimlessly all the time talking to my best friend when I was younger; again, I remember cordless phones being a huge deal)…Or computers with just floppy disc drives?

And I’m only 21. Are those three or four years really that big of a difference?

I don’t think cursive handwriting becoming obsolete is a bad thing, given how illegible most people’s handwriting seems to be, by the time they become adults (how many people can actually read their doctor’s notes?). My own handwriting is much more like printing than cursive - but at least it is legible! Just wish I could master the art of “texting”. . . :)
