2014 SCEA hopefuls?

^^ I think it depends on which school you’re talking about. For Penn, Wharton would be harder to get into than CAS, so your major could change your decision. But for Yale I don’t think it matters that much, unless you center your application on your intended major.

2 days! Beat pigs to it.

Indicating you are interested in engineering matters if you have the math/science stats and essays to support it.

I am so wildly jealous of the ED applicants at other schools. One of my best friends got into Stanford today, and I know a bunch of people into UPenn. This is cruel and unusual, Yale.

3 more days.

i am reasonably confident that i am going to get deferred at best. hopefully not rejected straight out though.

i’m so tired this year… i don’t even care any more.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll stress out if I don’t get in. I’m focusing too much time on thinking about this. I’ve found myself just killing time until Tuesday at 5pm, and there’s still 3 days left…

wait stanford decisions are out?

^ yes, check their forum :)

Looked like a complete massacre this year, worse than the usual “Stanford Slaughter”

(oh dear…)

did they just decide to release decisions early? I was under the impression it was 5 pm california time on the 15th.

any chance yale will do this?

has stanford done this in the past?

there’s hardly much time left, so it’s really unlikely that yale will pull a stanford. i’d honestly prefer being rejected over a deferral. the sting would push me, whereas a deferral would nurture my inner procrastinator/anything-goes attitude.

Good luck to you all!! Nervously awaiting results, just like the rest of you.

ARGH crap. I just found out somebody from my area (diff HS) also applied to Yale EA. :frowning: :frowning: :(

And he’s pretty much a genius.

I was hoping that my being from an underrepresented area would give me a (slight) boost, but now, I feel that deferral/rejection so much more.

This thread has been dying down.
Are we all getting too nervous?

I think so. It’s sooooo close.
Let’s get our minds off the inevitable and talk about something else.
Anyone seen any good movies lately?

Agghhh I’m so nervous!!!

The entire day Tuesday will be probably such an emotional rollercoaster…
hopefully I end up on a high note.

If Yale deferred me, I would be pretty happy too. But if I got rejected, that would be such a blow… guess we just gotta hope for the best!

I finally saw 21. I liked it!

@ TerrenceC
Our AP States class is actually going to watch that. I had heard it was good
I want to see “Up in the Air.” Can’t wait 'til it comes out; I love Jason Reitman movies.

Why do you think that if your intended major is Engineering, it could make a difference in the admission decisions?

@Terrence and khatchaturian- we watched that in stat class last year! :)

someone hold me… im soo nervous!

I find myself wanting to see “It’s Complicated”. I’m a sucker for romantic comedies and Meryl Streep (a Yalie!) :P
