ohhh because your interview was late. I see. mine was the day before thanksgiving

my interviewer did all her other interviews late and didn’t get calls about those interviewees. so i don’t know.

btw, is there any place you guys would accept over yale (assuming you got into both)? if you don’t mind me asking. i’m sure it’s been asked before, but there are 232 pages of this thread now.

? (10 char)

Harvard, maybe

@darkblademaster- you’re doing euro now? we did euro sophomore year, APUSH last year, and we’re doing ap gov this year

@treselefantes- uhhh harvard maybe, or duke on a merit scholarship. since I won’t get ANY financial aid ANYwhere, money does concern me a tad.

^me too! i’m going to have to work REALLY hard to be able to afford any college without significant merit aid.
it’s sad. slightly less than 40k in debt, i figured, if i attend an ivy league school. that’s before outside merit scholarships, but still.

Euro is an only senior course here. (only 10 seniors take it. o_O’') So is gov (APUSH 11, AP World 10). I’m taking both.

Hahah we don’t even have Euro…so I’m taking AP Econ and human geography this year.

I’d definitely accept Columbia over Yale

^why not columbia ED? need to compare FA?

I wouldn’t take Harvard. Just didn’t get a good vibe from there. The only place that I would consider taking over Yale (assuming I was accepted at both, which is a long, long shot) would be Brown.

That’s true. Acceptance rates are higher for Columbia ED, about 21% this year.

@percyshelley: (Shelley’s my favorite poet, btw.
) Haha, Brown is too liberal for me.

hey, percyshelley, me neither! i didn’t like H nearly as much as yale and brown (my numbers 1 and 2, respectively). the campus didn’t feel cohesive enough for me. i applied anyway, though, because who knows? it might grow on me.

and darkblademaster, brown is too liberal? and yale isn’t?

Yeahh the very little FA I’d get from Yale is better than the 0 I’d get an Columbia

^yes, i understand. i’m hoping for very little aid too, lol.

I do feel that Brown is more liberal than Yale, both in academics and social scene.

@Tres Elefantes: Yale isn’t because it actually requires students to take certain classes and gives grades for them all. Brown, I take it, lets a student choose the option of pass/fail.

oh, that’s what you don’t like about brown? the liberalism in academics? i was thinking you were talking about the social scene. and yes, rockermcr, brown is more politically liberal from what i hear (VERY liberal, although yale is pretty liberal too), but at both schools there is a conservative minority.

that’s part of the reason, yes.

wow if columbia is your first chioce you should’ve applied ED in my opinion. at least that’s what I would’ve done, if all that’s deciding is “a little FA”
