2014 SCEA hopefuls?

@Rtgrove123

I good friend I grew up with just survived the Stanford Slaughter a few days ago and was accepted. We always joke around, I tell him to save me a spot at Stanford and he tells me to do likewise at Yale. The moment he called me and told me he got in, my stomach did flips knowing the pressure was now all on me to deliver. It definitely sucks, thats fasho.

@ wmwool: I know right?! ) :

@ Rtgrove123: No I totally know what you mean… except the “close friends” part. A girl (her parents are friends with mine, so they always compare the two of us) who I don’t really get along with got into Columbia ED. Columbia’s sort of whatever in my book, but the point is that she GOT IN already with a LOT of aid. So the pressure’s definitely on.

Tell me about it. My friend last year got into Wharton ED and I’m applying to Wharton RD. And we’re compared a lot. My mother and her mother don’t get along well and pretty much my mother discouraged me from applying ED wharton because it would look shameful if I didn’t get in. Haha, Asians. Well anyway I visited and I thought Yale looked way cooler, so Yale SCEA ftw :)!

I’m competing with 5 other people I’ve basically known all my life for Yale SCEA. All our parents are also friends obviously, but they’ve all raised us differently. I’ve probably had the most “fun” and my parents focused the least on my academics (hence I have the lowest GPA (3.9 UW vs. straight 4.0’s) and lowest SAT out of the bunch (2300 vs a 2400, a 2380, 2360, etc., yeah its intense)), but my ECs are considerably stronger, as I have considerably more athletic and musical talent in addition to being more outgoing which has net me leadership positions. I’d probably fit into Yale the best since I’m not uh…socially awkward or misanthropic. I forgot to mention we’re asian. Also, I’m legacy, two sisters have a parent working there, and the rest don’t have connections.

Interesting Tuesday it shall be.

^ nice! hope you get in!

Hey Sanguinity thanks for labelling us “misanthropic” and “socially awkward.” Much appreciated :)

lol creeperrrr

haha tristan i was literally watching that before you posted it. I WANT HIM TO BE MY SON! sooo adorable!

lol I just watched that! It’s so cute! X3

That’s called: CC anonymity fail.

^lol, do you guys know each other in real life???

Umm, so how many of you have read every single post on this thread (well, at least since you saw it)
sadly, i do, and i was just wondering, just to convince me of my sanity

Hahaha, sanguinity, did you know your friends prowled CC? =P

I’m aware of multiple people on multiple forums, but generally I find it best not to acknowledge them lol. You do notice people though.

^^^ haha, nice.

Awkward Turtle… ;)

LOL!! The main reason I joined CC was because I could talk about college without anyone I actually knew reading my posts!!!

lol plummy, you cant say I’m lying though.

@renovatio: they probably won’t. I think they have a history of sending decisions out exactly on time. Stanford has been giving out results on the Fridays before the 15th.

My sister said that her year, Yale also announced they would be releasing decisions on the 15th, but then they randomly posted them the day before. When her friend told her, she didn’t believe him, but then she checked! So I’m going to be checking like every hour starting tomorrow…
Also, this is kind of a random question, but to what “safe-schools” are you guys applying??

^The first paragraph should be in quotes…
“@renovatio: they probably won’t. I think they have a history of sending decisions out exactly on time. Stanford has been giving out results on the Fridays before the 15th.”

I got into UConn. I’m hoping BC and Middlebury will be “safeties” and I’ll get in, even though rejection is still possible.

Safe -schools: UCs (CAL, LA, Davis, SD), Tulane
