<p>Haha, I actually like Columbia too (even though I find their traditional swim test silly). We had an alum of our school come back from Columbia to talk to us as the Columbia rep. It was cool because he remembered me when he was a senior and I was a freshman. :)</p>
<p>A beautiful place, really, with awesome opportunities all around. (Heard about that fiasco with Columbia’s underground gym with Princeton, lol.)</p>
<p>HAHAHA I actually do really love Columbia, but totally missed the part about not folding forms until after I sent my stuff in. Ooops…</p>
<p>I don’t get that “do not fold this form” part either on Columbia’s app. I folded it without reading the instructions, then realised and unfolded it. But it still has a distinct crease mark. If they reject me because of that, well then.</p>

<p>Even for us in the states applying to colleges costs so much!!! ( probably not as much for internationls) I am applying to 12 schools each costing around 70$ with score reports each costing 9$, if you include the cost of taking SAT’s it is just outrageous!!! I haven’t even gotten into a single college yet but I’ve spent over a thousand dollars!! Collegeboard is evillllll…I even rushed half of my scores ( 27 instead of 9$) because College board said it takes 1-2 weeks for scores to sent out!! Even electronic scores take that long… I think NOT, its just another ploy to get more MONEY$$$$. I firmly believe score choice was created so that people with money could retake SATs over and over again which means more dough for College Board. Sorry for the rant guys…</p>

1 was 40 bucks plus ACT scores
and two were 70 bucks plus ACT scores plus profile
so i only spent like 300 bucks</p>

<p>I was talking to some friends applying to Japanese universities, and the application fees to private universities are ~$150. That’s $150 each uni. Add to that TOEFL and SAT scores (some private Jap unis actually ask for SATs from ppl not applying from Japan)</p>

<p>So true!! All the asians I know in CA are applying to Stanford which is a lottttttt!!! Stanford is like the ultimate prize for asian parents if you live in CA, then CAL if weren’t good enough to get into Stanford.</p>
<p>ok so i am so glad i just discovered this thread!! i am a yale scea applicant and i am currently FREAKING. OUT. as one of my friends keeps telling me, if i don’t get in, it wasn’t meant to be, but that isn’t helping the fact that i desperately want to get in.</p>

<p>@ Siren, yes I’ve been there because I live in Houston. It’s pretty gorgeous and perfectly situated a city with AMAZING restaurants and stuff to do :] about 20+ people in my school are applying there early, and like everyone is doing it RD XD well, all top 10% at least.</p>
<p>Man after I posted, seeing everyones schools is so amazing. You guys are all great! Well if it helps, the guy who recently won the Siemens national competition goes to my school ;D He’s my friend…sort of…well okay my best friend’s best friend…lol.</p>
