hahaha that is true.
from what i can tell though, the tv series is way different than the books.

gossip girl rockssssssss

hey guys,

I am just wondering that if I take the SAT II this Saturday (Nov 7), will my score reach the AO soon enough for EA?

sooooooo worried :(

Hey buddy. sorry, but there is no way you will get that in time for EA…but you could ring up the Admissions office and ask really nicely? although i do seriously doubt it.

@ victorkangnz: yea thanks for your advice, I was thinking of calling them soon, it’s what I’ve been fearing these days. It just popped up out of nowhere n has haunted me so terribly :(

but thank goodness, I wrote to the AO a few days ago (jst thought that they’d be too busy to answer) n this is what I’ve got from my inbox:

Dear (my name of course :D) –
Not to worry – the November 7th testing date will be fine for our Single-Choice Early Action program. Just be sure when you go to take the test, list Yale as one of the schools to which you wish to send your scores immediate when they are available.
Thanks and good luck!
Best,

SOLITTLETIME, DEMITASSE------i miss you like no other!!! How is life??? Did Rocker go away??? Too much girl talk! I hope you are both having an amazing senior year! I LOVE YOU !!!
Wow, we Yalies “wanna be’s” really bond quickly! :-)

check out this article guys :(

[Yale Daily News - News analysis: Early admit cutback levels field](http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/university-news/2009/01/13/news-analysis-early-admit-cutback-levels-field/)

@solittletime - Yeah, I’m a guy and I’ve seen ALL of Gilmore Girls and I watch Gossip Girl. In fact, I just (literally, just!) saw the latest episode before logging on to CC. :D

stupefy- i read the article. this is bad news. :frowning: :(

anything having to do with colleges’ admission rates is baddd newsss

Sigh… not only is this year going to be the hardest year to date, but now they are cutting back admissions rates…

^Hardest to date? I thought last year was supposedly going to be the hardest. People were making arguments that the applicant pool for 2014 was smaller than 2013 on a thread I saw a while ago. If they’re cutting admissions, that’s not good news though. It’ll probably lead mostly to more deferrals or rejections for candidates who would have ended up deferred => rejected?

^they are expecting more applicants this year (Yale also notes it on their website).

The competition level continues to rise.

^completely true. each year, the elite schools become increasingly better than the rest, and interest in them only grows. applications arent expected to decrease anytime in the near future. maybe by lik 2013-2014 (if you look at birth rates) but by 2017 (my little bros graduation date) they will be back up to current levels

Yale is definitely my top choice!
Im so nervous! Cannot wait or Dec 15 good luck everyone
Ya’ll are so qualified its insane!

Random question: should one apply for financial aid even if he or she is well off? I have heard that it is always a good idea to do so, and have even heard that it will come in handy later on and that if you say no, you won’t be able to apply for scholarships. True?

^not true about scholarships. I basically have no shot at finaid (250k+ income) so I said “no” just so they might /think/ I could donate money. never know how much it could help

Guys, that article is one season old…is it still perfectly valid?

I would think that it’s fairly valid, especially since this is the first SCEA round that has come up after that…
