Congrats to our pool winner! I am happy with fifth. I won my other pool.

Great to follow this Badger team, though. They certainly charmed the nation along the way.
Have any of you had a kid who grew to be 7 foot or close to that? As a mom of college kids, that was what I was thinking of…all the huge shoes around the house, the mountains of food that must have been consumed, etc.
Congratulations to Karen! I was really happy to see Wisconsin in the finals, even though I had picked Kentucky. The Badgers are a class act.
This was one of the brackets I didn’t pick Kentucky to win. My results in my various pools were inconsistent, to say the least. Gonzaga in the championship game didn’t quite happen! Happy to win this one.
I wanted to see Wisconsin win, since they ended the national nightmare for us by beating Kentucky, but it wasn’t to be. It was a great game, though.
@missypie I have a 16 year old son that is 6’2" or so. His shoes and appetite is bad enough. I have a nephew just a few months younger than my son who is probably 6’5" or 6’6". I am not sure he is done growing yet. I am glad I don’t have that food bill. He does play basketball, he dressed and played varsity as a sophomore this year on a team that placed 4th at state.
I was friends with a mom whose sons were swimmers. They are 6,000 “good” calories a day. I don’t even want to think about that food bill.
My son is a top amateur triathlete (besides his day job). When he was training for Kona Ironman, the food he ate was absurd. He didn’t live with us, thankfully, but when we would travel with him it was one constant meal.
Of course, I meant “ate” in post no. 87.
Very sad story here in Illinois. A private plane crashed early this morning killing seven people. They were returning from the game in Indy to Bloomington-Normal where two of the killed passengers were part of the athletic department at Illinois State University - an associate head coach of the basketball team and the deputy director of athletics for external operations.
Evidently there was heavy fog in the area as the approached the Bloomington airport after midnight.
That is terrible.
sad, teriwtt.
teriwtt, I am an ISU alum and have been following the story. I was rather surprised about how little attention the story has received. One of the victims was the co-owner of a popular local pub.
Yea, @missypie - his connection to the community was well-covered in the media here - but not a lot of attention in the national media. In fact, now that national media is covering the destructive, killing tornadoes here in northern Illinois last night, I don’t expect the plane crash will get any more coverage. They pretty much already know low visibility cause by fog caused the crash.
How sad, teri…
