<p>Most legacies don’t get huge preference-only those whose parents who donate the money for a library, etc. get the royal treatment. Every other legacy must meet the schools’ academic requirements. They get the benefit if adcoms are choosing between candidates and 1 is a legacy while the other is not.</p>
