2015 Yale Waitlist Discussion Thread

Yeah me neither. I just want to know at this point! The suspense is killing me. And the lack of knowing anything about it. We don’t know how many people, if any, they’re taking. We don’t know how many people are actually on the waitlist still. We don’t know when they’ll decide… It’s killing me!

Yes, it’s just painful now. At least we have some sort of network, do post any updates.

It’s just sad how i’ve had my cellphone and home phone glued to me. This is agony :(

I jump and get nervous each time I get a phone call and then it ends up being my mother or some family member calling. It’s quite depressing.

I know of one person that got the call today, accepted!

what time? And what region?

Connecticut, it came it at about 1:30

Is it your daughter or a friend?

I live in Alabama and just got the call at about 3:45, central. I’m so excited, because Yale has remained my absolute top choice… I can’t believe that I’ve gotten such an opportunity.

Accepted  Called around 4 EST. Not sure if I’m going, I’d be passing up a full-tuition to Vanderbilt for Yale…

My son got the call this afternoon. His acceptance will depend on the financial aid offering. He has committed to Northwestern so he will only change his decision if the COA ends up being comparable. He is excited though.

I am little surprised they are already offering positions from the WL. The official letter stated we won’t hear until the middle of May. Congratulations though to those who have already heard the good news.

How long does Yale give you to decide?

has anyone from california gotten a call?

I was given until next Wednesday. My financial aid package comes within the week and my letter with all of the other information in it comes tomorrow.

Well considering that some acceptances came out; can we assume that some rejections will also come out soon to end this cruel and unusual punishment [for the unfortunate ones without acceptance phone calls]? Or at least when round 2 starts/when does round 1 end?
And a heartfelt congratulations to those who have been accepted!

I hope so, this wait is painful. Any international accepted? when/location?

As an international myself I can confirm that I’ve heard nothing.

Perhaps a call should be made, to see what’s going on on the other side?

I am curious as to how many waitlisted applicants sent a follow-up letter or visited the campus after your initial decision? My son did and I have to believe that carried some weight in his getting accepted off the waitlist. His letter detailed accomplishments and scholarship nominations that occurred after his initial application as well as his desire to attend if accepted.
