nevermind
SGR received and I just got a 3.80 GPA in my spring semester. Financial and Managerial Accounting done with as well with both A’s. How am I standing in regards to Marshall Accounting Major? This is the ultimate stress challenge!
this wait is so brutal
@ProfessorX5 Where did you read that?
Congrats to all that got accepted already! Just completed my first sem here at SC. Feel free to reach out to me about anything regarding USC.
I am not a transfer for the 2016-17 school year but I intend on transferring for the 2017-18 school year (high school senior currently, will be attending local community college in PA), so i have been in frequent contact with my regional admissions counselor in order to properly set up my courses in anticipation for next year. Through contact, I received a very valuable piece of information from my counselor, and when I asked how much of an impact ECs and volunteer worked impacted admission decisions (for transfers) she said “Fair question! We do not weigh it at all in our transfer admission process. Our decisions are made based on coursework and college success.” I just thought this would be important for some of you to know, especially those worried that their lack of ECs is going to be the deal breaker of their decision
@mochibbycake Did you find USC to be quite a bit more difficult than CC/wherever you were at before? I’m honestly a bit disappointed with myself. I did manage to get one A, but I got a C+ in another class and it has me all bummed out. I don’t know about my other two classes, but if I was scoring near the average on the exams, I’m expecting another C or two. Hope I can do a little better next semester.
How are people finding roommates? Is there a transfer facebook group?
@dhailey there is a link to the Facebook group at the bottom of the portal after your commitment deposit is processed. No one has been added yet though.
Like I said in a an earlier thread…My restrictions changed on oasis from1/23 to 5/9 and nothing since. I have a real bad feeling now.
Accepted to Marshall
@eloqunsy would be helpful if you told your stats and your background to us instead of just “accepted to Marshall”. not sure if you’re just trying to show off or what but congrats I guess.
@zettasyntax Hmm, not necessarily! CC prepared me well. It’s not “easy,” but I came in knowing what to expect and what is expected of me academically because I would be in a more competitive environment. My USC professors (luckily) were very supportive so that helped me as well. I did decide to take an easier load this semester (13 units, although I was pretty involved on campus and I struggled a bit with balancing my time with work + extracurriculars) and managed to do relatively well so far. Next semester is going to be a real challenge with a full course load + work + extracurriculars.
Don’t worry too much about it! It’s only the first semester and you have the next upcoming semesters to improve. I’m hoping to improve on balancing my time.
Question everyone: I haven’t been able to find this on earlier threads, what will your portal look like if you’ve been accepted?
@Irishrider from what I remember reading a few weeks ago, some people say it will look totally different and there would be a hastag “#igotintousc” something like that near USC on the right hand corner. but tbh there’s no need to worry what it will look like! haha
@Irishrider if I remember correcty, right side had a #IGotIntoUSC hashtag and I wanna say but not 100% sure that it also says Congratulations on the top.
Any accepted students get their financial aid packet yet ?
@ProfessorX5 I did today
Does anyone know when the next roll of decisions start sending out?
@ProfessorX5 I got mine two weeks ago
