When I got mine I was upset with it but after showing it to my counselors they told me I got an amazing deal. Time to start applying to scholarships now.
No update over here…
Restrictions are still changed as of 5/2 but haven’t heard a single thing yet.
Not TTP, transferring from a 4-year university; Dornsife applicant.
I’m getting extremely impatient! But honestly there is still time left. On last years thread applicants were being accepted up until June 1st. I just wish USC would be a bit faster.
@collegegirlUSC I didn’t find out until June 6th last year and I didn’t even get an SGR, so yeah, USC can be slow…
I’m freaking out. Is an SGR a good sign? I just got one as a dornsife applicant. I had a pretty rough spring semester (luckily I didn’t fail any of my classes). I have a pretty low grade in one of my classes and it was somewhat out of my control. :-S
@USCsssss The posters in years past have made it seem like just about everybody that doesn’t fail a class/withdraw from several gets in. Although, I always say that people don’t always post if they didn’t get in, so it’s hard to tell if this really is the case. In the past though, I’ve seen that you definitely don’t need a 4.0 for your spring grades to get in. It really just depends on your major (and I still like to believe that it depends partly on your admissions counselor as well)
I hope you get an SGR @AIS562
I go to a 4 year right now but my grades wont be available for a couple weeks… Should I be worried that spots will fill up before I have the chance to send my spring grades in?
I haven’t been accepted or rejected yet because I still to send my spring grades.
However, has anyone’s (who is in my situation) financial aid section changed on the screen from: financial aid package will be given in early May TO financial aid awards are usually available 3-5 business days after all required documents are received. Does this mean anything? Or am I looking too much into this?
I’m just a little confused because my financial aid message changed.
@PhFourteen it means nothing, I have that, too. And has been there forever
I haven’t received anything from USC yet. I hope we find out next week. I already got accepted to Pepperdine with a scholarship. Is it worth going to USC Marshall without a scholarship?
@mateenjan1 USC is going to cost approximately $70,000 next year, and its cost of tuition is just going to steadily increase. I think everyone has a different situation/perspective on this, but I feel as if no college is worth going $70,000+ a year in debt for.
@mateenjan1 @Probtransfer I agree. The tuition cost to attend USC is really expensive. If you are going to pay the tuition yourself without any help from your parents, the debt you’ve accrued will certainly be a burden. But if you think the experience of staying at USC outweighs the debt after you graduate, go for it! some people think it might be worth it and some might not. If you think you’ll have a hard time financially, then pepperdine might be a better choice, depending on how much money you’ll earn from the scholarship.
I’m a Dornsife applicant Checked mail today and got nothing. Is it safe to assume I was rejected yet?
I got accepted into UCI business admin program with a full ride. I would most likely have to take out loans to go to Marshall. USC is my dream school, but having loans as an undergraduate sounds terrible. I can always try to go to USC for MBA. Any insights?
@wtb2525 Gratz on the full ride to UCI! Personally, if I were in your situation I would go to UCI to save money, and go for a MBA at USC later in the future. But it’s up to you. If you prefer USC over UCI because of location or the students there, go for it. Having no debt after graduation would sound nice and you wouldn’t have to worry about it.
Does anybody know if the deposit is due within two weeks of receiving the letter or June 1st?
does anyone how hard it is to declare a double major at USC? I applied as a business major and was looking into the applied mathematics major. I haven’t gotten in, just simply exploring my options at each school.
@topchoiceschool very easy. In terms of declaring that you want to double major will be easy. Fitting all your require classes into four years is hard. It might take you an extra year if you decide to double major unless you’re planning to take extra classes each semester including summer.
I’m so scared I got rejected because I haven’t heard yet. Dornsife applicant. Seems logical that those who haven’t heard of Dornsife are rejected?
