Letters of Rec:
-1 from a financial accounting professor who gave me a recommendation to get me into my schools honors program and I excelled in her class (got 100% on the final and 99% overall)
1 from my Biology honors professor. I tutor her students as one of my extracurricular activities and I read her letter of rec it’s really good.
Misc: I have two W’s and I explained them on my app. One semester I also couldn’t get 12 units (full time) because I couldn’t get into any classes due to receiving a late registration date and not being able to crash, which I also explained on my app.
-One W is from a pre-calc class. I withdrew because I struggled in trig (got a C) and couldn’t keep up with the pace in pre-calculus. Although passing pre-calc, I withdrew because if I couldn’t grasp the contents in pre-calc after getting tutoring and going to office hours and fell behind, I knew I wouldn’t do well in calc the following semester and it was in my best interest to withdraw and re take it to understand it to better prepare myself.
-One W is from a philosophy class that I was informed I needed this class for schools I was applying to but was misinformed. I took this class over summer and had to pick up shifts at my family restaurant and couldn’t devote the time to the class. Since I didn’t even need it I decided it was in my best interest to drop it.
Just got an email from USC reminding me that I haven’t signed up for financial aid yet. Did everyone get this or does it look like a sign of potential admission?
@ivrule congrats! I’m nervous af now, since you received an SGR late April as I did, and you heard back as I haven’t I was asked for my parents W-2 form as well, but that was before I was requested for my spring grades
@pomeranian4rich I am a junior transfer. What is your overall gpa? Good luck to you! You should hear back in a week or two I believe… From what I read in a thread from 2011 (could be different now).
My son got the email, too. I’m sure it goes out to any transfer applicant who has not applied for FA. It’s basically “don’t miss you” “not too late to apply” “here’s what you do,” blah blah blah.
I’m trying to stay optimistic but I’m getting worried. I haven’t received anything from them, not even an SGR so I sent in my grades without them asking because I already finished my school year. I applied to dornsife as a bio major and am hoping for the best! The most USC action I get is from this thread lol
@ohwiseone I sent in my grades about 2-3 days before I got an SGR. I don’t know if that made it go faster but i think it was just a coincidence… A lot of people started getting SGR at the same time I did… So It didn’t make a difference but it prob will make my process of getting accepted go faster
I have completed the math with a B and to my knowledge I didn’t know Econ was a prerequisite. It didn’t say so in the transfer planner. I know English is a prerequisite and completed with an A
