2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@john6311 that’s how I feel too. I’m wondering if I should call back to ask again

@erajan Did you call your counselor?

@erajan no, don’t call.

I think it’s best not to call them or email them at all because that will speed up the process of them reviewing our applications lol. Unless they have a specific time frame to check their emails/answer phone calls.

I just noticed that my request to submit my transcript in the “Required Document” disappear today, so I’m guessing they are in the process of reviewing my application two weeks after submitting my spring grade.

^that’s a good sign! I guess it’s best that we continue to wait as of now even though it’s going to kill us

Anymore updates from SCA?

Still haven’t hear back from usc… I am dying…
I am International and transferring from NY states. GPA around 3.4 to 3.5…
By this time, does it mean that I don’t have any chance?
(since I saw people got in with gpa no less than 3.8 and many with 4.0)

Also is it true that usc would save rejection letters to the last?

@uschopeful6 Most sophomore applicants are pretty much guaranteed an SGR, but you can definitely get accepted without one  Even people that should have, in theory, gotten an SGR were outright accepted this year, so yup, it’s possible :stuck_out_tongue:  Also, I don’t really see anything wrong with calling your counselor; it’s their job to help  Even if they just give you a generic answer, it reminds them you exist. In my case, I actually wondered if they forgot because it was past the June 1st deadline and I heard absolutely nothing (so in my mind, I was thinking a definite rejection since those are pretty much always saved for last). A couple days later, I get my acceptance packet in the mail. At least they don’t have to deal with the freshmen applicants anymore :stuck_out_tongue:

@LACCryan That’s pretty neat! I took classes at ELAC, WLAC, LATTC, LACC, and Pierce over the years myself. I was also in a similar situation - I had my math class (stats) in-progress.

@jjrrhh Generally, yes, it’s been the case that rejections come out the last few days (so maybe May 30-June 1). Anything can still happen though (even an SGR on June 1st), but the rejections are usually among the last to come out (which is definitely torture). Although, to be fair, not many people on here post about their rejections, so who knows the full story?

What are the chances of getting into Marshall or Dornsife with a 3.4 GPA from UCLA as a junior transfer?

Thanks for the reply… Guess just need to hanging there for few more days!

@zettasyntax have you seen any early may SGR applicant hear back by June 1st last year? It’s been two weeks since my sgr and I’m SO anxious to hear back from them. My anxiety is building up on me haha.

I feel so anxious right now, bcos i hvnt heard any news from USC. Currently, my gpa is 3.9 and i’m from CC. A lot of my friends who have lower gpa than me hv already been accepted into USC. While me, I havent heard any news from them. It makes me so nervous and anxious. It seems like they reject me :frowning:

@pomeranian4rich For sure. I remember a Marshall student getting SGR’d May 6th and hearing back May 31st. Definitely possible. I’m not sure if it matters by school/major or counselor or anything though =\

@TheWorrisomeGirl Im still waiting to hear back. I applied to the animation program and for my second choice major I chose undecided. At this point I am desperate, I really hope we hear back asap.

Is it possible to get an acceptance mail before I submit my sgr? my spring semester ends June 8th…gosh!! Waiting is so horrible to me!! I really want to post my happy news in this thread!

How long does it usually take to get a response after sending in spring grades? Just finished spring semester and am waiting for my final transcript grades before I send them to USC.

@Probtransfer around two weeks? I guess it varies when you submit your sgr. If you submit it in June, most likely it’ll be in mid-july. SGR submission in May might hear back at the end of may or beginning of June I hope. I think they are reviewing my application again after submitting my sgr two weeks ago.

Submitted my spring grades 5/12 after getting an SGR 4/28. Sophomore transfer from a 4 year with a 3.86 first semester and 3.81 second semester. Anyone else not heard back yet? Beginning to lose hope. Marshall applicant with 32 units. All A’s and A-'s with a B+ in Statistics. My stats grade is being appealed, but that process won’t be done in time for USC to see the updated grade. I let them know this, but still. Any advice? seems like rejection is imminent at this point.
