2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

Oh! Are you close to USC

@John6311 I live in Orange County !

@zettasyntax can you give us a general idea of how we find out what credits will transfer from our current school?

@paddlethewaves https://camel2.usc.edu/articagrmt/artic_hist_range.aspx this link has every articulation agreement from every school in the country to USC (if one exists), if a credit transfers from your school it is on here

@transferme12 what does those restrictions mean?

@paddlethewaves penntousc showed you the link that I would have posted  That’s what I used too to get a sense for what might transfer. The only thing I can add might be obvious, but USC doesn’t like online lab classes. I took a science lab online and needless to say, it did not transfer to USC (although it did for the UC’s, for some reason).

Accepted for the SCA in Film and Television Production! (:

@ChimaoLOL Congrats!! How did you find out? Mail or portal?

@ChimaoLOL Wow! Congrats! I hope I hear of mine today. I was accepted into NYU, but my girlfriend has been nonstop crying about me “leaving” her and I have been pretty stressed about it too. If USC accepts me then we can live nearby, but of course it is USC. One of the toughest film schools to get in.

@ChimaoLOL If you received by mail: Do you live in SoCal? I honestly just want to know if they either deny me or accept me.

@Kyles52 LOL my girlfriend does this thing where she is/will be really happy for me and then gets all sad if I leave (either UCI or USC) because we live in NorCal and she goes to UCD. I hope that USC works out for you, did you receive an SGR? Good luck!

@masechka1988 were you accepted? I haven’t heard anything yet but I just emailed them to try to do the same thing and someone responded saying they didn’t see my records and asked if I was admitted for fall or summer… I’m going to to let them know I haven’t heard anything yet hoping I get the same outcome as you lol

the mail came today and NOTHING.
I’m up in NY - has anyone in the NYC area received a decision?

@selfofsteam I’m in NJ and still waiting

For anyone still wondering if their out-of-state CC credits will transfer when their school doesn’t come up on the articulation history: On the USC articulation history page I compared it to universities in my state that my CC transfers many credits to. Then I just chose classes from that. Also my CC has a course equivalency system on their website so I looked the couse equivalency of my courses to a university in my state, then compared that to USC’s couses on the articulation history with credits that have transferred in the past for that school. It takes time but it’s the only way I found that works out. Anyone have any other ideas?

at this point is it too late to receive an sgr?

This is nerve wracking…hoping for an SGR. If I do get one, and get a 4.0 Spring quarter, am I basically guaranteed admission?

@anxiousmac Of course not, but it does suck getting an SGR instead of an acceptance at this point in the game since it means around two more weeks of waiting.

@paydre As close to a guarantee as possible, I’d say  but nothing can ever be 100% with USC; they can be weird sometimes :stuck_out_tongue: I like to consider myself the poster child of almost having a 4.0 for my SGR (one darn B) and getting rejected.

Also for SCA people, congrats to those that have been admitted  It seems REALLY tough to get into SCA. Even in years past, I think most SCA applicants were accepted as either Undecided or some alternate major instead of SCA, so it seems extra tough =\

@zettasyntax So my admission adviser said that it is possible to try applying for internal switch major, but its not guaranteed and may further delay my graduation (especially since I still have 3 GEs + 2 foreign language + 2 writing reqs to fulfill). Do you think its worth it to risk leaving ucsb for usc with the hope of getting into annenberg? Also, do transfers tend to stay longer because we need to catch up? I feel like I would need at least one extra semester…
