@CaliforniaUSC i think they got them around the 18th? I had to send them twice and also uploaded them online. I dont really remember when i send them either time, honestly. The second one might have been the 12th or 13th.
Are there any accepted Korean-American students on this thread?
@edna.m16 What math are you taking this semester? thanks
On my portal it says “We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.” Is this true? I thought the deadline was June 1st
@cctousc I was on a semester system at an out-of-state private university with 82 hours total. but I am guessing only half of them will transfer. I was a double major in International Business and Communications with a Spanish minor, so I am still a couple of courses short in the business core courses that Price would probably want. I still have not heard a thing online or in the mail. I hope you have better news!
Rejected as a junior transfer, dated May 27th. First choice was Marshall, second choice was international business. Completed all GEs and took 18 credits this semester in order to fulfill all the GEs. 3.74 Overall GPA Majoring in Business from San Diego State. I kept in close contact with my counselor, and went to transfer day and attended both online transfer Q and As. I thought I had a pretty decent shot and never received a SGR. It’s all good though. I didn’t expect to get in at all, and thought I’d give a shot into getting into my dream school.
@USCsssss did u get an SGR? I got an sgr and sent in my grades already. Mines different, this is the main thing it says: We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of May, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify transfers by June 1st.
@USCsssss mine says the June 1st “We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of May, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify transfers by June 1st. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will email a request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly.”
I got a sgr early May. is this message the same for other sgr applicants?
@pomeranian4rich I received a SGR on April 20 and sent grades in on May 12 and I have the same message
I got an sgr on april 27 and have the same message! @pomeranian4rich @erajan
@pomeranian4rich I recieved an SGR and mine says “We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”
Got SGR on 4/28 grades sent 5/12 and my counselor confirmed they were received “We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”
Its weird cause i had that too but then it switched back to what pomerinian said after they got my grades @USCsssss @CaliforniaUSC
@Sagacity same for me!
I really don’t think any of these subliminal messages/hints mean anything, I just think counselors aren’t always on it with updating the portals, I really wouldn’t read into it too much @Sagacity @erajan
Thanks @collegegirlUSC
I found out through the portal. Didn’t get an email or anything I just decided to check since others were getting decisions. And yup I live in SoCal. In my portfolio I had figure drawings of men and women, one of my cat in different positions, one of my hand holding a glass. I also drew one demonstrating facial expressions and a quick cartoon character design. The rest was just random digital pieces: postcard design, a shipwreck, a tiger’s face. Hopefully it’s a good sign you haven’t heard anything yet. Best of luck to you!
I got rejected unfortunately. I’m not sure why, but it may have been because my math class didn’t transfer (I’m presently at an arts college). I didn’t realize that until recently. I have had some health issues, so I vary between a straight-A student and some semesters where I have to take multiple withdrawals and a couple times I failed classes. Overall my GPA isn’t too bad (around a 3.6), and I’m double legacy.
I’m going to try and apply again next year, and I’m leaving my arts college and taking some classes at community college to better meet the requirements of an academic institution.
@Sagacity same thing happened to me actually!
@koenigsegggegg Definitely sounds like something to base an appeal off of if you never mentioned it otherwise! Some of the counselors really hate W’s. I even remember one on a USC blog saying he doesn’t like to see them at all, so I would be scared if he happened to be my counselor =\
I’m not sure if USC has changed this, but back when I appealed, there was no formal way to appeal your decision. You basically had to email an appeal letter to your counselor. When I did, my counselor confirmed that he was “forwarding it to an appeal committee”. Even though the odds aren’t the best, I feel like it’s worth it to try and appeal even if just for the fact that somebody fresh is going to look at your application. I know that one student did have a successful appeal in 2014, so definitely possible.
if a class transfer over for units but doesn’t satisfy any GE or pre-major requirements, does it get calculated into your USC GPA?
