Anyone know if there is a maximum amount of online classes that can transfer?
@ashurikko For their GE’s, I don’t think there is any limit on how many you can take.
@PDrake6 I’m also planning on appealing but I don’t really know how to go about it. My counselor just told me to write a one page letter and send it to her. I’m kind of just planning on writing about the improvement my GPA showed cause I improved from a 2.9 to a 3.8 which I think is worthy enough for an appeal? Idk and some other things. What about you? And good luck!
@ohwiseone did you get a sgr? if you didn’t then you can explain how you improved this spring semester i think that will be really convincing! unless they already know that you have a 3.8 this spring semester, they won’t bother to reconsider you. You have to provide new information about yourself. good luck!
@pomeranian4rich no I didn’t get an SGR I just got a flat out “nah we don’t want you” haha, so I’m hoping that they consider my new grades cause 1st semester of college was not too swell! And good luck to you as well!
Is there a reason they are taking so long to get a decision back if they received requested grades over a week ago?
@megan343 they are probably waiting for some applicants to SIR so they know how many more applicants to accepted. this is my theory but i could be wrong.
I just called my admission counslor and she said I would get a decision by the end of the month. I got an sgr around may 18 and sent it a few days after. Viterbi applicant.
Hey everyone:) I delivered my spring grades yesterday in person around 1130 am and when I checked my portal at 11am today I was admitted for the spring. They did that extremely fast so I was surprised! Im an incoming sophomore polisci major with a cumulative 4.0 for those wondering.
@sarahouslyyy congrats! did you receive your letter yet?
@sarahouslyyy congrats that was fast af
Should I submit my grades through the portal even though my school sent them through mail and has been noted that they have been received. I think it’s annoying how someone just submitted their spring grades and received their decision in a split second whereas there’s many of us who have been waiting for months.
And I feel as if I submit my grades through portal it’ll notify them and they’ll look at my application and I’ll receive a decision. It has been proven from what I’ve seen that the people who submitted their grades through the portal have heard a decision quite faster than those who submitted through mail
I got rejected a while ago (end of May) but I thought I would post to help anyone in the future. I was a sophomore applicant (chem major) with a 4.0 full-time. I did not receive a request for spring grades. I was pretty confused as to why I was rejected and when I called my admissions counselor she told me that it was due to not completing the English requirement. I finish it this summer. I’m appealing but there isn’t really a point since the English requirement is a necessity. She told me I would definitely get in as a junior applicant with the requirement done. Tbh ucla sounds like a much better option for me. So au revior les Felicieuses. I hope this helps. Good luck.
@pomeranian4rich no I haven’t received my letter yet!
@John6311 I definitely think that’s a good idea! I also believe how fast you get accepted after submitting grades is contingent with your admissions counselor’s area. Some counselors have a larger area and thus may still be very busy, while others have smaller areas or are dealing with schools that have ended a while ago so they have more free time and can make a decision faster.
By the way, is there anyone else on here that has been admitted for the spring?
@sarahouslyyy yeah I get you. My counselor has a very small area from what I see on his respective region and has been a USC admissions counselor for a long time now. So I think it’ll be best if I send it through my portal. Do you know who your counselor is?
For those who have been annoyed with USC’s Official Transfer FB Page being unresponsive - The Admin for the official 2016 USC Transfer FB page accepted people’s access requests. I requested to join back in early May and just got in today LOL…
Do you think that if I tell my counselor that I’m incurring more and more costs for another school while I wait for USC they will make a decision faster?
@Kraz4CocoPuffs I wanna know this too lol we might sound desperate and probably annoying by doing this. give it a try and tell us how it goes! haha
It looks like Im gonna get rejected soon My final grades are up and its really sad
one C, one B, two A’s. Spring GPA of 3.1…
getting rejected is not that sad but it brings my overall GPA from 3.8 to 3.6… ugh I wish I’ve done less classes this year
oh im viterbi applicant with SGR btw
@waitgame I wish you good luck! it might not be over yet. those two A’s could mean something. are those two A’s in physics and calculus? if it is don’t worry too much. a C or a B in a GE classes won’t kill you. getting an A in your major prereq is more important. stay positive!
