2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

anyone know if spring admits have better shots at housing?

Bruhs this wait is ridiculous

I’m going to call my counselor tomorrow.

If you get in are you interested in living in Gateway or Tuscany @daRamz

@John6311 Definitely hoping to find a place near campus i dont want to commute bruh what about you guys are you all looking for roomates for a place near campus

Gateway and Tuscany are near campus. Right across the street actually @daRamz

@LadyVeee there’s a lot of us who submitted our Spring grades in early May to mid May and are still waiting lol.

Yea I know its practically a month and were still getting F with kinda wish I taken my other offers even though they werent great schools know I might have to wait to transfer till January …

Im definitely interested in finding some roomates if yall are down

@bigstom I talked to someone in housing when I visited the campus for the first time last week. He said that the chance of getting on campus housing as a transfer for the spring is very slim. However, we technically have a better chance because it sounds like the housing for this fall is completely full. He said a few spots open up for the Spring due to some people leaving or graduating in December.

Also, I know I saw a few people here who were curious about their GPA. Anyone who has been admitted can see their transfer GPA through the Transfer Credit Report in OASIS. It might take a few days to update once you’ve been admitted, but there is a section titled “Cumulative Transfer GPA” near the top. It lists the total number of units attempted and your GPA. I’m fairly sure that is the GPA they considered when reviewing your application. If you had a SGR, you can scroll down and see if those grades are listed and if they have been factored in.

@John6311 Yeah, I’ve read the thread. I definitely empathize with you guys. I only submitted my grades a week ago and I’m going crazy. I can imagine how agonizing the past month or so has been for those of you who have been waiting that long.

@LadyVeee we have super similar stats and the same major choices. hope we hear back soon

this concerns me how long it took some of them.

A lot of those applicant received their SGr late May or early June. So that may be a reason, but there’s been multiples who just recently submitted their SGRs and have already heard back while there’s some who submitted their spring grades way earlier and are still waiting @eoverland idk I just feel like this years decisions have been released really weirdly

USC financial aid just sent me an email asking to submit some paperwork. Good sign:???

@daRamz I emailed USC housing, and they said on campus housing is full, there’s also 180+ guys on the waiting list. She said that it’s not even worth submitting an application, and that even spring on campus housing is basically impossible. However she pointed to me Gateway and Tuscany apartment options. They’re apartments right across the street from campus, basically on campus. I’d be down to room if you guys are looking for roommates. Good luck!!

Also, not a lot of spots open up spring. Only a handful, mainly from people studying abroad or graduating etc. the housing lady said it is still extremely difficult, and that I had a better chance next year. Originally I planned on deferring to spring, but I don’t think Gateway or Tuscany is all that much different.

Seems like a good sign to me! Does your portal say anything @xerxes96

@bigstom Yeah, I have to agree with what everybody is saying about spring housing. They wanted me to live in a temporary place with 5 other people until something potentially opened up - I didn’t get a single one of my options and having so many other roommates (even if I did eventually get placed into a more permanent place) didn’t sound very fun. As transfers, we’re all basically screwed when it comes to housing at first; perhaps spring admits even more so.

@LACCryan Thanks for the detailed stats post! I wish more people took the time to put a little more detail other than just their GPA and major :stuck_out_tongue: It’d be nice to hear about GE completion and other details in general  It’s awesome to hear another HS dropout success story. The highest grade I dropped out 1 month in my 9th grade year, so I’m not even sure if I can really be called a HS dropout given how I barely even tried :stuck_out_tongue:

@izrobins how did they inform you about the decision? did the portal changed?
