who else is waiting to hear back from marshall
@tkj2323 dornsife is my second choice…
if the office is closed I doubt we hear anything today…
@tkj2323 We’ll see… I don’t want to get ahead of myself haha, it could just be a glitch
@xerxes96 me!
@eoverland ah I see, what was your first choice? I am not even worried about getting an answer this quickly… I just want to be admitted haha…
I called again and he said that everyone will hear next week
@Irishrider There’s really no need to worry at this point if you received that
I was skeptical too last year when people kept mentioning that form in their financial aid, but every single person who claims to have seen it, was accepted. I think I was just jealous that I never saw it, haha
I had to find out the old-fashioned silly oasis way of my acceptance.
@John6311 that’s great news! Best of luck to everyone here!
Update: Just got off the phone with Admissions, they cleared out my financial aid notification and said I will be hearing very soon from them (she couldn’t expressly say that a decision has been made, but she said it “looks” as though it has been decided) and that I will be receiving something from them in the postal mail, as is standard, and that it may not ship out until Tuesday since it is a Holiday weekend. KEEP UP HOPE guys they’re busy from a holiday weekend so that may be the delay on us.
Now time to just keep refreshing my portal like 5 million times
@zettasyntax fingers crossed I really hope so!!
Yup I think at this time all we can do is maintain positivity and hope for the best. Good luck everyone and I hope we all get accepted!
@Irishrider I would just wonder when you’d see your acceptance
LACCRyan and I believe it was journalism89 mentioned earlier in the thread that they saw their acceptance the very next day after seeing the form. I received my acceptance in the mail last year on a Saturday, but it was in June and not really a holiday, so that’s different I suppose. But maybe your portal could still update
so I haven’t gotten anything about financial aid… is that a bad sign
@zettasyntax
Im not trying to scare anyone, but I feel that as many acceptances are coming in, a few rejections will likely make its way here. Recalling back from a 2013 thread @haileydp was rejected late into mid-jury 7/12/13 he/she was sgr may 15th and submitted sgr june 7th followed by a rejection on July 12th. I feel that they did not reject that applicant at first since he or she was a competitive applicant but they probably had no more space to admit her. if her stats were terrible they could’ve rejected her a few days after seeing her sgr,but they didn’t.
I’m honestly worry that I’ll be put in the same situation as her. Marshall applicant here and dornsife alternative
@zettasyntax have any thoughts on this?
Guys I just got the financial aid notice! So excited to see what my decision is. I really hope it means I got in
@pomeranian4rich that is my exact thought. I’m really scared…
@scotthock did it just update or are you now seeing it. This is exciting though because you’re a TTP so I hope I’m next
If I may ask what does everyone’s financial aid message day in the last section
@eoverland Not at all. I never even knew about it myself and it apparently vanishes, so it might be hard for most to catch if you aren’t actively looking for it
I never got a financial aid email either and I was still accepted. This ability to benefit form thing is just a sure sign that you’ve been admitted and they accidentally tell you a day or two before you actually find out yourself
@pomeranian4rich Well I do agree in some aspects. When I submitted my SGR back in June 2014, I was rejected within two weeks - pretty fast. It did seem like all of the people that wound up getting accepted had to wait far longer than that, but of course, there’s always exceptions (like people saying they find out they’re accepted the same week! - that’s crazy). However, I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about. Sure, there will no doubt be rejections, but I doubt it’s because they ran out of space - that’s a reason why spring admission is a thing. My favorite example of the Marshall guy who was admitted around July 15th, said he even called the admissions office and was told that it was almost 100% certain that he would be a spring admit if he indeed he was accepted as she stated Marshall was pretty much full. I don’t think there’s anything to worry about because it’s so late; there’s still time because I know USC will continue to make people wait because that’s what they like to do
Sorry I started to write so much, but honestly, I wouldn’t worry if you’re competitive
There were so many Marshall people at the spring admit transfer orientation (and they all seemed to be from Texas for some reason lol).
