@mrajan97 and @topchoiceschool I’m sure you two are fine as long as you have correspondence with your counselor. That way they know it’s your school instead of thinking you’re blowing them off :). I wouldn’t be too worried

@Irishrider I am going to accept my other school if I don’t hear by 3 today. It’s been 5 weeks! USC is my dream school but I can’t just sit around waiting any longer!!

Hello, I’ve been lurking for the past month or so (since I’ve turned in my SGR on June 1) and I’ve finally worked up the nerve to say hello. I have heard from some friends (3) who have turned in SGR and received admission within a week… This has me worrying. Is it really true that most of the people notified in July likely receive admission?
@tkj2323 welcome! hopefully we all get in to be honest. we will see… what is your major and stats?

@tkj2323 What school did you apply to? It seems they roll out admissions by school and not by general admissions
UPDATE: I just got the “Ability to Benefit - Verification Required” Financial Aid notice
Do you only get that notice if you applied for financial aid or did you not apply for financial aid either? @Irishrider

@megan343 I’m not 100% sure as I did apply for financial aid, I’m not sure if you would receive it otherwise. You could check and see if you go into your portal --> check status of financial aid --> Eligibility Checks (should be a drop-down window). It would have a red triangle with an exclamation point in it

Hey, nice to meet all of you guys! Here are my stats :
California CC - Applied to Dornsife - Political Science
3.65 GPA - For personal reasons, I couldn’t complete some of my courses in my first semester to my fullest capability. I got a 2.75 in my first semester (yikes). But have gotten straight A’s in the next 40 units.
54 Units completed. Including all GEs except for one anthropology lab.
SGR turned in on June 1 - 4.0 on 12 units.
Essay - 7.5 maybe 8/10 tbh - talked about my grandfather’s philanthropic work and how it had influenced me to work for law school.
Played 3 varsity sports in HS and captain in 2. Was first team all-county in football.
Volunteer at various homeless shelters (about 2 times a month), and attend a monthly volunteer trip to an orphanage in Tijuana.
I tried to call my counselor and the office is closed for the Fourth of July holiday and will reopen on Tuesday
