@waitgame haha no I’m Marshall. But I think results are releasing them by school. Like early in the week it was annenberg and yesterday and today it’s Viterbi. And according this message is indicative of an acceptance. Congrats!
@Kraz4CocoPuffs I hope you are 100% right ! LOL its hard not to get excited but i’m not going to until i receive my package…
I wish you well and other that are in SGR boat just like me.
My Spring semester was weak btw and if this “Ability to Benefit” thing is a sign of an acceptance, I’m sure many of you are in better stance than I am in right now.
KEEP UP GUYS!
@zettasyntax thank you! when you went to orientation, was it relatively easy to sign up for your preferred classes or were most full? Also, is it likely I’ll have to try to ‘crash’ courses at USC if they are already full?
I still have to fill two of the G.E requirements (IV and VI, the ones that USC requires we take there) and the ones I’m most interested in are showing their already full
What happens if I didn’t apply for financial aid
@waitgame are you TTP? :o
@itslife123 Ahhh. I don’t have much experience with that because both of my major choices fell within Dornsife. However, USC did admit me for my second choice major which I was less prepared for (only 1 major prep course completed whereas I had 4-5 for my first major), so I didn’t know what to make of that.
@journalism89 Well, the thing is, I also happened to be a spring admit, so it might be a little different. For instance, the course I mentioned, Human Language Technology, had over 100 students for Fall 2015, but for Spring 2016, it only had about 24 students (which is why my lab session was cancelled). It was crazy. We had this huge room with so many empty seats. This semester, it once again has over 100 students. Maybe it was the time (it was an 8AM class).
I can say that I was able to enroll in every single course that I wanted - the only problems were that I didn’t like the times for some of them, but hey, I was able to get into every single one I planned on. Even enrolling in the Viterbi (outside of my school, so I initially needed clearance) courses was a very simple process. Just took 1 email and that was it.
Which courses were you interested in? I haven’t yet seen a case of people wanting to add a course, but I wasn’t there for that vital fall semester
@zettasyntax have you seen any applicants get accepted to their alternative major at this point of time? I can’t stand to wait any longer and the anxiety is killing me. I wish I would get accepted to my alternative major (Dornsife) instead of waiting for marshall. I heard internal transferring from one major to another at usc is easy, so that shouldn’t be the problem.
@waitgame Congrat!! i have a question, did you apply for the financial aid? cause i didn’t apply, so i dk whether or not i would get it.
@zettasyntax I am placed in Cardinal Gardens for housing and I need your opinion. If I apply to reassignment for Century 4 people small room, I can save $1,000 a semester. Do you think its worth switching or no?
@TrojanIGotIn Yes, I have applied to FAFSA and USC financial aid. Let’s wait and see if this is a sure sign of acceptance…
@Cindyciclta I don’t know what TTP is so no. Im assuming its some kind of program?
I am not in any program for USC.
Any dormaife applicants hear back? Submitted my sgr in person on june 15 and havent heard back
@zettasyntax for category IV i wanted to take Science of Happiness and for VI I was looking at Diversity and Racial Conflict (both classes full :-<)
Also, when it gives the options for the ‘discussion’ times, is this also every day with the lecture??
@waitgame I apologize for my absence I’ve been working quite a bit. I haven’t heard anything else (I did talk to my counselor and while he told me he couldn’t actually tell me anything, he said it “looks like a decision has been made and you will be notified very soon, but it may be next week since it’s a holiday weekend” and that because of that they might not run postal until Tuesday), but I’m not stressed at all, I just think Viterbi is finally rolling out the red carpet. It honestly looks to have been about the same last year, and although I was a little bit alarmed at just how many people are receiving these notices, there were quite a few in these small batches last year and I believe it’s just as @zettasyntax said, it looks like everyone who receives this got accepted.
Also notice @journalism89 and @LACCryan both received their acceptances 1 BUSINESS day after they got their FA notice, and this is a weekend (not even to mention 4th of July weekend, just saying, if I worked there I’d be out of that office the minute we closed) so there’s a chance we’ll get it this weekend, but most likely it will be Tuesday (realistically I’m gonna predict Wednesday or Thursday depending on when you got the notice)
TL:DR I really wouldn’t freak out about it and just relax, I know it’s easier said than done, but everyone that got this in their financial aid got a decision, and we can rest easy knowing at least that much and that the end is in sight.
@Irishrider I also got my admission 1 day after I got an email for additional financial aid information.
Side note: if any guys are looking for roommates at Gateway or Tuscany or any other apartments, hit me up! Would really like to meet/ get to know roommates rather than going completely random. FIGHT ON!!
@Oneday1997 didn’t mean to exclude you, it was also 1 business for you as well correct?
Guys can we take summer classes at our cc before enrolling at USC? I am currently taking 3 classes (Soc, Bus Law, and Intro to Bus) will they transfer. They are all online classes. I know USC does not give credit to online lab or foreign language courses. @zettasyntax
Has anyone from Marshall gotten the benefit thing?
@eoverland I havent gotten yet.
@Irishrider wow thank you for very detailed explanation. I just hope this is a good sign towards our acceptance
I have also looked into 2014 and 2015 forum and people with “Ability to Benefit” was accepted 2 business days later. I’m in LA so I’m expecting the package by Wednesday at the latest.
Hope to hear good news from you soon and others as well.
