2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@pomeranian4rich Oooh, that’s a good question. I wish I could remember, but I don’t recall by memory :frowning: You’re right though - it seems quite easy to switch schools/majors (most of the time, anyway). I do recall a SCA major (from the year I was rejected) that was accepted in May as undecided/Dornsife who then switch to Marshall later on after starting; that’s pretty cool :slight_smile:

@ProfessorX5 That’s a toughie. I could only handle living with 1-2 other people. Being in a place with 4 people total might be too much for me to handle. Granted, I come from a big family and am generally a quiet person, but I just think so many people might lead to drama. This would really come down to personal preference and/or if you’d need that 1K for something else (like maybe the meal plan). Tough call.

@journalism89 Ah, I’m not familiar with either. Although, to me, I think it looks as if the Science of Happiness might open up a few more spots down the line, so I wouldn’t give up hope! Definitely try to attend the earliest orientation you can to snag a spot if it does indeed open up :stuck_out_tongue: As for the discussion, you just go on the day it says. If it says Wednesday from 10:00 - 10:50AM, that’s the only day you go; not every day; that might be killer :stuck_out_tongue:

@mr.transfer I would definitely think that USC would be okay with it. I always thought you couldn’t take summer classes, but it seemed like everybody was asking their counselors and getting the okay. In fact, my counselor insisted that I continue to go to community college for the fall (since I was a spring admit) and try to knock out the language requirement I was missing, so yeah, I think you’d be fine and it would be smart if those fulfill any GE requirements or anything you still might be missing. Also, I’d say that 1/3 to 1/2 of my classes were either online or hybrid classes.

@mr.transfer Yes you can, I’m doing the same thing.

Congrats on everyone who’s been accepted! For those who haven’t heard back yet I hope we hear good news this week! Please don’t forget to also post your stats in the official stats/decision thread if you haven’t already. I just think it’ll make it easier for next years transfers to sift through

What if you didn’t apply for financial aid? There wouldn’t be an update to the financial aid status right?
Is anyone else in the same boat that has been accepted?

@zettasyntax Im okay with a lot of people. Never had a room to myself so Im used to the tight space :))

I plan to study in libraries so I don’t need the room to study thats why I was thinking 4 people to save money.

If I get accepted, I honestly would prefer to be Spring admit. Is there any disadvantage to that?
and also, can you request to start at Spring if you got admitted for Fall?

@waitgame why do you prefer to start during the Spring?

@awalksonman what is that thread called

@xerxes96 http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1877907-usc-fall-2016-transfer-students-stats-decisions-only-p1.html

@JDYA112 Thanks for answering that for me! :slight_smile:

@John6311 I don’t think I have enough time to get everything ready. If that “Ability the Benefit” is sign of acceptance, I would receive my package sometime during next week which gives me about one month to prepare myself for USC. I don’t think that is enough for me and not to mention that the classes at USC are probably all closed by now… I would rather go when Im really preapred.

@zettasyntax @topchoiceschool thank you guys

@Irishrider oh no worries lol, I just wanted to reaffirm the trend. Yes it was 1 business day after I had gotten that notification.

Did anyone apply to NYU by any chance?

Happy Fourth y’all! :smiley:

Anyone heard anything yet?

I dont know man do u think they would just send a mass letter shipment of rejections all at once just considering its july 5th and when does their fall semester start

The fall semester starts Aug 22 but move in is the 17th

GUYS! I just found out that I’ve been admitted to Spring 2017!
I’m in class right now so I’ll post my stats again later on.
The letter of decision was uploaded to yousc portal!

I doubt that would happen. it seems that they send out mostly acceptance at this point based from last year thread, but there are some rejections being sent out also. those who are rejected, don’t feel ashamed to post your stats. we’re not here to judge one another, we’re here to learn and exchange information so that we can better prepare ourselves for next year
