Rejected**
Viterbi Mechanical Engineering applicant from CCC. Updated via portal at around 1pm.
Overall GPA 3.78. Completed all math requirements including differential equations and linear algebra, complete all of general chemistry, complete all physics, with different other major applicable courses, and many GE courses.
Although this comes to me as a bit of a shock and disappointment, I will be happily transferring to UC Irvine for the fall. This was the final admissions notification that I was waiting for and now the wait is finally over.
Best of luck to everyone else. Which ever path you take I know all of you will do great things, no matter which institution you decide to continue your education at.
@waitgame I guess you had nothing to worry about haha even though your spring grades weren’t that good they saw something in you! do you have lots of ec?
@Panzer403 your stats are solid! it’s disappointing that they send your rejection so late. did you get a sgr?

@pomeranian4rich yeah I got a SGR all the way back in May 20th.
I forgot to mention that I did a summer research internship at the mechanical engineering department at UCLA in 2015, I am doing another research experience this summer in engineering in Colorado, lots of good extracurricular activities, all while working full-time/part-time for all of the past years in college.
Dissapointing that I won’t be a Trojan since it’s so close to home. 
I can’t even enroll for orientation since I am still waiting for a decision…hopefully classes don’t fill up fast for fall semester.
@daRamz yeah it blows. I thought I had a good chance. I am still glad that I was able to be a contender to be a part of a great institution such as USC. I will be continuing my education path with pride. Good luck to all of you. I truly hope you all get in.

@pomeranian4rich I guess so LOL My spring was 3.5, however, at the time of application it was 3.8. I was worried because I was kind of showing a down trend.
I guess I do have lot of ec but first, I am a non-traditional student.
I will specify those once I get home. Its kind of hard to sit in class right now

Received letter on portal today, dated July 2. I also received the ‘Ability to Benefit’ notice on Friday.
Undeclared Viterbi, 3.8 gpa, 35 ACT, lots, and LOTS of extra-curriculars.

@Panzer403 I know this could be personal, but do you mind emailing or calling your admission counselor and asking why you were rejected? you have great stats and a solid ec, my only assumption as to why you were rejected was due to limited spots available.
