Admitted to fall 2016! Electrical Engineering for Viterbi will post stats when I get home from class
looks like viterbi is hearing back this week. Marshall should be next…hopefully.
Did anyone receive their decision in the mail recently or is it just online notifications
Got in today at 12pm to Viterbi for Mechanical Engineering Fall 2016! Found out online first! Do not know if mail came. I was on the trojan transfer plan and had a 3.55 GPA.
CONGRATS YALL! So, all of the people who received a decision were the ones who receive that financial aid message.
I’m way too excited everyone!!!
ACCEPTED to Viterbi - Electrical Engineering (decision dated July 2nd, 2016)
SGR - May 21st, 2016 – sent in spring grades June 14th
STATS:
Overall GPA - no effing clue (USC doesn’t recognize my academic renewal). For my UC’s I know it’s 3.6 I can say that much. I did terrible my first year and a half or so of college (left El Camino College with a 2.0 GPA), took a break and came back to Los Angeles Harbor College and from the last two years have accumulated a 3.83 GPA. I have A’s in Cal 1-3, A in Differential Equations, B in Linear Algebra (I took a B in this class and withdrew from my Physics 37 class, first installment of the calc-based Physics series, due to a death in my immediate family this past fall which I explained in my application), A in my first calc-based Physics course (taken this spring) and an A in General Chemistry. 4.0 Spring semester, all writing requirements done, NO GE’s done however (I believe, we’ll see when STARS is filled out). ~~ TL:DR I have A’s in almost all major related math and science classes with the exception of Linear Algebra (actually not even sure that’s required for EE here)
EC’s: Engineering Club, STEM (have a patent pending from that program as well), Honors Society, Minor volunteer work but that’s about it. Made it onto the Deans honor roll and the President’s honor roll while attending too.
I also have A LOT of Alumni in my family. My mom, 3 uncles, my aunt, 3 of my cousins, and my sister all graduated from here (that might have helped). We’ve had Trojan pride in my family since before I could walk and after my stint at El Camino I never thought I’d make it, it’s a crowning achievement to be able to say I have
Other than that due to my GPA and not having alot else done besides math and some science courses I really didn’t think I’d make the cut but hey!!! There is hope!!! A special thanks to everyone on this page who has been a huge support and helping create the family here, with my congratulations to everyone getting accepted and my condolences to those are not

FIGHT ON!
@John6311 It certainly seems that way. I think there’s one person left who received that message and hasn’t responded on here but I’m sure it’s good news…
BUT IMPORTANTLY keep up HOPE guys!! It just looks like Viterbi sent out responses, we’re still waiting on Marshall, Dornsife, and some others.
hey guys. congrats to everyone getting accepted that’s amazing!!! so i applied to the school of dramatic arts and i haven’t heard anything back, and i haven’t seen anyone in this thread really talking about it, so i was just wondering if anyone knows anything about that particular school within usc and if they’ve been accepted?
I got in! Nothing in the mail yet.

I am truly humbled. I didn’t think I would get in. Congrats to all of those who have gotten in so far!
Edit:
I attended several California Community Colleges.
Also, USC has always been my dream school! Just thought I should mention that.
Viterbi today marshall tomorrow?
@xerxes96 Hopefully! You’re a Marshall applicant as well right?
I am! @LadyVeee I’m applying from a 4 year tho and i am nervous thats going to hurt me and not help I’ve heard that community college students have priority.
@xerxes96 I’ve heard the same but you got a SGR so they see something in you that they like, stay positive! What 4 year are you currently at?
It just hit me that move-in is in a little over a month and there’s still a lot of us who have not heard back yet…
ACCEPTED****
to Viterbi - Civil Engineering
TIMELINE: applied 01/29/16
FA notice about parents around March
SGR 05/20/16
Ability to Benefit 07/01/16
Accepted to Spring 2017 dated as 07/02/16
STATS:
3.84 at the time of application.
3.53 for Spring semester. I was worried because my GPA went down but thank god!
As far as classes go, I completed math up to calc3, 1st semester of chem, 1st semester of physics, all the English req, and some GE’s that I can’t really think right now.
Overall, right now I have about 45 units completed and with summer classes, I’ll have about 51.
EC: here I have to mention that I am a non-traditional student. I am 5 year Navy vet that worked closely to Civil Engineering. So that might have been a big plus. I also have other volunteer stuff that is related to helping homeless veterans and traveling to Mexico to help little kids that are in need.
I wasn’t in any program or any club in school. I am very thankful and grateful! I hope you guys make it and if not, it isn’t end of the world. Keep it up!
ps. Am I the only Spring admit?
@Panzer403 I don’t get it. You were such a great applicant. You took all the required courses. It it maybe perhaps becuase you had W’s by any chance?
For those asking, Marshall Applicant over here too
@LadyVeee currently go to csuci super small school. i also got straight a’s this semester so i hope that helps me lol
@xerxes96 how many units?
So many Marshall applicants left waiting…
Hello everyone!
New to the thread, but going crazy waiting to hear back from USC. Applied to Dornsife as an Art History major. Turned in my SGR at the end of May or beginning of June. Been checking the portal and my mailbox obsessively. Was wondering if anyone else has heard back from Dornsife?
My fall registration is also coming up and I’m not sure if I should just enroll in some classes. Congratulations to everyone who got in though!
