Admitted Marshall (Spring 2017)
GPA- 3.4 cumulative (1 W)
School- Public 4yr OOS, not a public ivy
Essays- 9/10 (chops were seriously busted for these)
ECs- marketing internship, joined our PRSSA chapter, also started doing a professional development training for business this summer
Counselor- shout out to Maria Rodriguez. We didn’t talk that much but I kept her updated on EVERYTHING I was doing, even when school ended. I really believe it when people say that counselors have more of a say for SGRs because I’m not sure how else I would’ve gotten in without her advocacy. Regardless of how it happened, I’m extremely grateful.

@waitgame It does apply to transfers that need to take additional math or science courses. If you have completed your requirements (which it seems like you certainly have), you don’t need to bring the results in.
Also, just because it was mentioned, I tried literally everything to be bumped up to fall. When I mentioned it to my counselor, he basically became really harsh and his tone changed completely. I must have emailed every level of dean/higher up in the Dornsife school and somebody on the main USC forum here on College Confidential even gave me the address to send a letter to the USC prez (I guess he referred to it as the so-called USC house). I was incredibly daring, but I mostly received no replies. I did get a reply from the dean of Dornsife, but he just stated to talk with my advisor (who was the first person that I asked after my counselor), so it was an endless cycle. I’m certain I’ve mentioned my story before, but just thought I’d say it again. I do recall it saying on my admission packet last year that every student is considered for fall admission, but I don’t know if that line is included on this year’s packet. Also, it seems like if anybody is bumped up, it’s usually freshmen spring admits =\ Anyway, you can all tell I’m still a bit bitter about it 
I tried to sign into my portal to check my status and it went to a weird page that said “Respond to a Communication from USC” “You will need the 10 digit USC ID number found on the letter, mailing label, or email” WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? I just want my decision 
@tashanicole it probably means they’re reviewing your app right now or something lol don’t freak out. I rather see that instead of my old portal that has never changed for two months.

its expensive to live down there. how do i convince my parents to let me move down in fall even though i start in spring! please help. 
@eoverland tell them it’s a 12 month lease and so you can only find people to room with who start in the fall… Promise to get a job while you wait, or pay back the semester next summer
Is there anyone looking for a roommate at gateway or Tuscany. Tuscany only has private bedrooms available, 2 per apartment. And gateway has everything.

@eoverland I would do what @penntousc said and get a job. Would be good to save up before you start school in the Spring. The cost of living in LA is very expensive (but fun)! Will you have a car?

@pomeranian4rich I feel like it might be too late to sign up for study abroad. Had I known, I definitely would have enrolled for one.
@Cindyciclta no one has been posting rejections lately. I think there was one a couple days back, but a friend posted on his/her behalf. So not really 100% sure when that rejection came.
there hasn’t been one rejection so far in Marshall I think… or is there? it was mostly acceptance last week for Marshall.
