$949 per bed/person for a 2 X 2 ( 2 people per room) . For a 1 X 1(private) it’s $1070.
Thanks for the information! Last question, does anyone know when the enrollment deposit needs to go in for spring admits?
@mr.transfer My financial aid updated and they are requesting additional documents as well. I’ve been scrambling all day to try to get everything to them. I was expecting to get the financial aid package from them today. Hoping this doesn’t postpone getting aid. I believe tuition is due August 1st…
@LadyVeee Congrats on your acceptance!!! You truly deserve it! Would you mind sharing your stats & units completed? Thanks alot
@mrheha Congratulations on getting accepted!!! You truly deserve it! Would you mind sharing your stats & units completed? Thank you very much
Does anyone know why USC may chose to admit someone for Spring as opposed to Fall? :-?
@johnnyUSC I did absolutely nothing. I did try to get a job, but that didn’t work out. I remember the only place that called me back didn’t do so until after I started at USC and they were very adamant about wanting only full-time workers, so my job hunt proved unsuccessful. I would have gone to my community college, but they revoked my class fee waivers/financial aid for having 100 units, so I didn’t want to pay to take classes I didn’t need. i had no other GE requirements to complete. Although I did need to take a third foreign language course, but I didn’t think it was worth it to pay for that/only go for a single class. So I did absolutely nothing. It was nice having an extra long summer vacation, but I felt so unaccomplished. I seriously just bummed it instead of actively making progress toward my degree.
@uscmarshallbound The reason is either there are a variety of reasons or seemingly no reason. The most common is not having a GPA that helps the average (being under 3.7), but my GPA was higher than that and somebody this year had a 4.0, so having high GPA doesn’t seem to save you from spring admission. While I did have a 3.9, I had a boatload of units. People have claimed that USC seems to think older students can wait longer to finish their degree since they’ve already taken longer than the norm. This was one category that I did fall into with my 100 units. Others say major prep/GE completion. With the exception of the above mentioned foreign language, I had no other GE’s to knock out. And USC actually admitted me for a major that I was less prepared for lol, so that made me question the whole major prep thing if they didn’t want me for my first major choice. It’s very hard to make sense of it all.
Accepted to Marshall as a sophomore transfer for the Fall semester. Dated July 9th but found out this morning on my portal.
@Sctl97 Congrats! Would you mind sharing your stats & units completed? Thank you.
How long after submitting the enrollment deposit do we get the orientation email?
@uscmarshallbound Thanks!
I posted them twice a while back but here it is with a little more detail.
Admitted Fall 2016
GPA- 3.35 cumulative…not sure what my transfer GPA is. I had poor grades when I first attended cc but in the past 2 years I had a 3.8-4.0 GPA taking 14-22 units per semester while working 2 jobs
CC - Long Beach City College
Essays- 9/10 (poured my heart and soul into the essays. In my personal statement I talked about my family, why I want to study business, and all of my work experience. In the supplemental essays I talked about my special needs younger sister and how how she led me to work with special needs students at a high school in a low income neighborhood )
Letters of Rec: 2 - 1 really amazing one from my accounting professor , and 1 from the CFO I interned under who graduated from SC
ECs- 3 years management experience, work with special needs department for Long Beach Unified School District, Summer finance internship with Long Beach Police Department, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, President of Business Club, Treasurer of Poli Sci club, member of Christians on Campus and surf club.
Counselor- Kyle Beasley…he was seriously awesome. He answered all of my emails the same day, answered the phone when I called, and always gave me informed answers…I mean as much info as he could
I believe USC definitely looks at applicants as a whole and I’m a perfect example of that. My GPA is obviously not the best but I make up for that with my ECs. They count! So for those of you who have dreams of one day being a Trojan but don’t think it’s possible b/c of a low GPA, don’t give up hope!
ACCEPTED!!
MARSHALL SPRING ADMIT
I go to CC pretty close to LA
-I have a 4.0 cumulative GPA
-Enrolled in my schools honor’s program
-on the dean’s list
-I’m in the inter club council at my school
-Completed 31 units (all transferable I believe)
-Took financial accounting and business calc (received A’s in both courses)
-I had two letter of recs
-My essays were pretty good but I feel like I could have done a little better
-All in all, I’m so glad I’m going to be able to attend USC this spring… though I was really crossing my fingers for fall… I’m so exited for what the future has in store for me!!!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
@zettasyntax Thanks for answering my question so fast
I like being Spring admit anyways so I have no complaints about it
However, I do wonder why someone (or myself) will slip into Spring instead of Fall. I guess it’s really up to USC.
@LadyVeee did you also have to submit 2 documents for Financial Aid regarding your parents assets?
@mr.transfer I had to submit 1 regarding my parent’s assets, 1 stating which college my sibling is attending, and there was a mistake somewhere on my financial aid application so I had to submit a form to fix it.
@uscmarshallbound Thank you btw. Just a note, I will switch to Leventhal in spring.

Comments: I would say I’m really surprised. If you meet the minimum requirement to apply to USC, I highly suggest you do it. Nothing is impossible. Also, be patient about the decision. The waiting process is painful, but it is all worth at the end.
@mrheha may I ask which courses you completed to make progress in the university requirements, Marshall requirements, and GE’s?
anyone receive their aid package yet?
@penntousc Fall: College One(Some random course I had to take if I want priority registration), MACRO Econ, PRE-Calc, ENGLISH 101, THEATER ART 5(forgot the name of the course). Spring: MICRO Econ(I got an B in this class), Bus Calc, CriticalThinking, History of Modern Philosophy, Financial ACCT. That’s all.
LOL the system glitched and I didn’t have to pay an enrollment deposit!! saved me $300
