@zettasyntax Could you explain how prestigious USC is? is it as prestigious as berkeley and stanford?
so did everyone’s counselor replied to them? because I emailed mine like 3 times, then called twice and left voice messages but he never got back to me
also I called because last time I emailed, he didn’t respond and then all he said was, oh sorry I must’ve missed that email… really worried.
@victory1 Ooh, that’s a tough one. Well, on these forums, USC definitely isn’t the most popular from my exploration of various sections And if you do care about all those rankings, USC isn’t quite at the same level as Berkley or Stanford - yet. Some of my friends go to UCLA and one of them gloated on Twitter awhile back that UCLA was ranked higher than USC in terms of world prestige (I forget the exact list - there’s just too many to remember). USC is top in its field in several areas (right outside of one of my computer science classes, they have a huge poster gloating how they’re continually ranked #1 in CS Games)
but I guess for most people, it may not hold the same prestige factor as Berkley or Stanford. For me, I intend to stay local to Southern California, so I suspect employers would hold a USC degree to a higher regard than if I moved overseas to England or somewhere where it may not be as popular/known.
@zettasyntax Thank you for the kind words, I hope to get accepted as well!
@victory1 Not sure how many semester units I have completed (I went to a quarter system school) And my second major was “polymer science” which was under Chemical Engineering as well, so I guess the answer is no
@zettasyntax Do you think down town is a worse choice than northern part of USC campus in terms of security? where is the safest area to live as a USC student except the dorms?
@zettasyntax you’re right! I follow the old GE.
Hey everyone! My name is Iris, and I transferred from UCI to USC about 3 years ago. I made a video about how I did it and think it could help a lot of you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x98ciZ-bj8. I was once in your position, looking through college confidential and seeking help, so know how it feels. I was able to transfer to USC, and want to help others get there too. Anyways, the one thing you have to really do is commit yourself to it and work really hard. Good luck!
Accepted!! annenberg applicant on ttp. So far i have gotten in as undeclared (second choice) and since Annenberg reviews later, I will be informed later on if i get accepted into my first choice major (PR) after they go over applications
Hi guys! I just got accepted today! I was not on the ttp. I was accepted as undeclared, even though my first choice major is communication at annenberg. But apparently they do not review applications till later? Do you guys think they just say that or do I still have a chance at being admitted to anneberg? Thanks!!
@sofiaasingss same thing happened to me. I think we do have a chance at being admitted considering that in the past few years, those who applied to annenberg would be some of the last people to hear back
@sofiaasingss Congratulations! Do you have legacy status?
@hitherto i have an aunt that went there but that’s it!
@sofiaasingss I think you’re the first non-TTP/non-legacy to be admitted on this thread! Did you receive your decision through the portal or postal mail? Can you post your stats? Thank you!!
@sofiaasingss do you know what your you.usc.edu page looked like after being accepted? and congratulation!
@hitherto It’s crazy! I received a package in the mail today. My admission decision hasn’t changed on the portal yet.
Anyway for stats (I’m not 100% sure on what I should be including):
College transferring from: University of San Francisco
Entering as: Sophomore
GPA: 4.0
Units completed (Including current registration):54
I am currently in my math course that is required for admission and I have completed all my GEs except for science.
EC: Campus Activities Board, Campus Radio, Weekly Volunteering, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and I also included a few of my high school activities
I applied for USC last year but we rejected. I applied as a Pop Music major at Thorton and only made it to the live audition. This year I applied as a communications major and am still waiting to hear whether I was admitted to Annenberg. I am listed as an undeclared major at Dornslife.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
@pomeranian4rich Thank you!(: My portal has not changed yet. I received the package today around 6:00.
@sofiaasingss Thank you for posting your stats! I’m way less anxious now. I was afraid that all the non-TTP decisions would come out on June 1. I’m hoping that I won’t get hit with an SGR on like May 30 and have to wait until July for the decision.
Hey guys I know Im touring myself in doing this this but could someone please chance me

hey guys, i applied as an annenberg applicant, do you think they’d still consider me for undeclared if I called them?
@sofiaasingss Congrats!!! When did you submit your common application? Does anyone know if we submit the transfer application towards the end of December/earlier than the Feb 1st deadline, will we get the decision earlier?
