2016 - 2017 USC Transfer

@qwality2953 Did you apply to Accounting/Levanthal, or just Marshall?

@ElevatedThinking just Marshall for Business Administration. Second choice was CSBA

@qwality2953 Congratulations! So you received your admission decision on YouUSC but haven’t gotten a physical letter yet? That’s interesting.

Also, may I ask when you submitted your application? The deadline for transfers was February 1st.

Anyone have Kelsey Bradshaw as their counselor?

@ElevatedThinking I think I saw it online first because of the distance. It seems like many others who have gotten their acceptance letters live a lot closer to USC than I do.

As for the date of submission, I submitted mine on January 31st. I put it off as long as I could but I wanted to make sure I didn’t have to work through any computer problems.

It seems like they have accepted quite a few students from out of state community colleges

@mr.transfer I have Kelsey as a counselor! She’s really nice and answers my questions pretty quickly

USC is a private university… they have no preference on whether the applicant is in or out of state.

@Sxsxjx I am aware of that but they could potentially look at applications in an order structured that way

I have a strong feeling we will see a wave of acceptances this week from Marshall applicants. Seems like they were all sent out at the end of last week and they are currently in transit. All the current accepted students also seem to have lived close to USC. Thoughts?

@dhailey Nobody from a CCC seems to have been accepted yet, but sophomore transfers (TTP?) and OOS college transfers seem to be getting their packets already. Maybe you’re right with the order.

Even though I know I shouldn’t worry because it’s a long time til June 1st I’m still worrying about not receiving any updates on my app :frowning:

Anyone on TTP that has not received their decision yet? And is there anyone on TTP that has received a SGR, or has not received an SGR?

The acceptance pattern is so unpredictable this year. Last year a few Music Industry applicants were accepted first, then a Dornsife applicant was accepted on 4/29. Acceptances and SGRs are rolling out way earlier this year. I wonder if it’s because UCs are increasing their acceptance rates.

@ohwiseone yeah she is pretty awesome. answers my emails quickly too.

does anyone have Art Stenmo as a counselor?

@IBProspect123 I’ve only seen two people get accepted into Marshall, and they are both non-CCC (1 is CSU, the other is from Oregon). Have you found any acceptances from community college students?

@John6311 I’m TTP and have not received anything yet. I called my advisor who said there is no reason to worry. They probably haven’t gotten to us yet.

Do they mail out SGR’s or is it through the portal?

@collegegirlUSC Both. You are notified through your yoUSC portal first. The SGR letter arrives via standard postal mail a few days later.
