-Managerial Accounting (A)
GE Courses Completed: 2/4 + Diversity and English Requirements

-English Comp 2 (A [Honors])
Extra Curriculars: Tutoring Job for Biology at my CC and Manager at my family restaurant. Secretary of a volunteer club in high school.
Letters of Rec:
-1 from a financial accounting professor who gave me a recommendation to get me into my schools honors program and I excelled in her class (got 100% on the final and 99% overall)
- 1 from my Biology honors professor. I tutor her students as one of my extracurricular activities and I read her letter of rec it’s really good.
Misc: I have two W’s and I explained them on my app. One semester I also couldn’t get 12 units (full time) because I couldn’t get into any classes due to receiving a late registration date and not being able to crash, which I also explained on my app.
-One W is from a pre-calc class. I withdrew because I struggled in trig (got a C) and couldn’t keep up with the pace in pre-calculus. Although passing pre-calc, I withdrew because if I couldn’t grasp the contents in pre-calc after getting tutoring and going to office hours and fell behind, I knew I wouldn’t do well in calc the following semester and it was in my best interest to withdraw and re take it to understand it to better prepare myself.
-One W is from a philosophy class that I was informed I needed this class for schools I was applying to but was misinformed. I took this class over summer and had to pick up shifts at my family restaurant and couldn’t devote the time to the class. Since I didn’t even need it I decided it was in my best interest to drop it.
-I also was not a very good student in high school. I wasn’t involved and got a overall 2.9 when graduating so I’ve made a huge improvement since then.
@Sxsxjx My GPA is a 3.95
I was rejected last year when I applied out of HS, so I reapplied this year as a transfer.
I should have about 60 hours now, but I don’t know if 60 will really transfer.
I applied for WSTV in SCA, and I have most of the GE requirements done. I didn’t have any required classes for my major.
I think my essays were good, I spoke about how being rejected helped me grow as a person, and how I want to be a filmmaker, and stuff lol.
What are yours?
@PolinaMadison GPA is 3.88, soon to be 3.9ish with 42 credits completed (all A’s and A-'s with a single B in a small lab course freshmen year), 15 in progress (sent in midterm report with a 3.95, 4 A’s and one 1 A-). I completed all my prereqs for Psych major and almost all GE’s for USC including foreign language, only missing two or so. I didn’t receive much aid from Pepperdine, but I will probably attend regardless.
@chaseguy750 Your application looks strong! The 2 Ws might be a little unappealing but I am sure it can be overlooked if they strongly consider the recommendations. What is your area of concentration? Mine is Information Systems/Management. And I was in the same boat in high school. They requested my spring grades and I am taking 20 units and have As in 17 of them for sure with a possibility of have an A in the other 3 unit class so I hope that helps make a case for me. Luckily my school ends at the 18th of May so I have a chance of hearing back in mid-June.
@BIMguy Pre-Accounting. As of now it looks like I’m going to get a 3.54 this semester. Statistics (A), Geography (B), Business Law (B) [Does not transfer to USC], Intro to Business (A). If I get these grades this semester my USC GPA will be a 3.72 overall and my college GPA will be a 3.58. I have not heard anything from USC yet.
Are you not able to access the actual portal or you can’t login
@John6311 It is a withdraw from a class. USC does not like them.
@asanabanana for you, are you just not able to log into your account or the entire page won’t load?
@PolinaMadison I am also a School of Cinematic Arts applicant. I wonder how the process differs. I hope they get to our applications soon the wait is killing me.
@chaseguy750 Oh okay, do you want to become a CPA? Which business related classes do not transfer to USC? I took some chemistry classes my freshman year because I was undecided and got Bs in both of them, which ruins my GPA and puts it at 3.65 (CSU) and 3.70 (UC because one chem class was CSU-transfer only). Oh okay, did you apply anywhere else? Sorry for all of the questions.
@Sxsxjx Yeah I think I sent in a 3.86, and then on my winter grades I sent in a 3.95. Pepperdine gave me okay Financial Aid, but I’m not sure about the loan factor yet
Portal is working for me when I log in on my phone. Haven’t tried logging in on an actual computer.
@collegegirlUSC which major did you apply for? I figure they must have gotten to ours, or at least seen mine because they made me apply by December 1st
@BIMguy yeah I do. I got a C in trigonometry class, a B in intermediate algebra, and I think I’m getting a B in business law this semester. All of them do not transfer to USC or UC so that’s why my USC GPA is higher. I got into CSULB, CSUF, Cal Poly Pomona, USF, UCR, and UCSB (Pre-Econ and Accounting). I got denied from SLO.
@PolinaMadison I applied for animation but the deadline for that one was February 1st or something like that. I heard somewhere that first you need to get accepted into usc then the application is reviewed by the SCA committee.
@chaseguy750 Nice! I know USC is better than the colleges you listed but that is a great list to choose from none the less. Good luck to you.
@BIMguy thanks! What about you?
@chaseguy750 I applied to UCSC, UCI (signed my TAG) and USC. It is hard to find schools with my major because I want it to be strictly Business-IT. I have gotten accepted into UCSC, but am worried about UCI because I did not hear back yet and people have already started to get acceptances. USC is my #1 choice and I hope that I can get in. This is my second year so if I don’t get into UCI or USC, I will stay another year. I have an upcoming internship with Intel so if I don’t get in, then hopefully my internship gets extended for the school year (trying to be optimistic but chances are bleak).
