We have to be formally admitted to USC before we apply for housing? is that true?

Admitted Freshmen and Transfers: Your information has already been uploaded into the housing system. To retrieve your housing password, type in your 10 digit USC ID number and click “Forgot Password”. The password will be sent to the email address on file with Admissions. If you are having problems logging in, please contact the USC Housing office. Once you have logged in, if any information you see in your Profile is incorrect, please correct it or contact our office if it is something you cannot access."
So do we know if being able to log in to housing is a good sign or not?

How long does it usually take to get a final decision after sending in spring grades with a SGR?
@IBProspect123 My GPA is 3.34 LOL… so I was expecting a straight up rejection but I’m super thrilled that they’re giving me a chance with a SGR. I’ve completed 34 units with 17 currently in progress. I’m an upcoming sophomore applicant into Dornsife, and I’ve completed all the prerequisites except for 1 section.
@topchoiceschool Yes, I clicked on “check my application status” and this appeared “We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”

@Uptowntake2 It’s true that the counselors/admissions office is really busy, but I have a story that may just be coincidental, but I think it’s funny 
Last year, I called the admissions office on, I think it was the day of or the day after “all” admission decisions were to be made (so very early June), basically asking why I didn’t have a decision yet since I wasn’t even SGR-d by that point and the girl basically just said “Oh, our goal is to have notified most if not all transfers, but some will still be hearing into next week.” Anyway, not a very informative call, but the next day my restrictions on OASIS updated and two days afterward, my acceptance arrived in the mail I mean it’s never nice to complain, but hey, maybe it reminds them you exist?
@fighton7 it’s simply saying do not apply if you have not been admitted. I imagine this has to do with spacing and availability. They want to accommodate people who are current students or incoming students. They wouldn’t want to waste time filling spaces with students who don’t attend. Also, everyone who applies, admitted or not, receives an ID number that is on file with admissions and that is the only thing required to register for housing. Being able to register for housing means absolutely nothing and is no indication of an acceptance.

Also got an SGR today! My admissions counselor said they needed to see my math pre-requisite grade before they can make a decision but I can’t send it in until late May cause I’m taking my math class at a semester system cc 
The rest of my classes are at a quarter system cc, do you guys think I’ll still have to send in my final spring quarter grades too (end of june agh) and wait to hear back until July? This wait is killing me ughhh!

I just received a spring grade report with a 3.86 overall GPA. I’ve completed 43 units and currently taking 16. Expecting to get a 4.0 this semester. Does the spring grade report need to be final grades? or can i send midterm grades?
