2016 Essay Exchange/Peer Review

So I don’t know whether people will be willing to do this, but I thought I might as well post it.

Basically a chance get a peer review for your essay.

Here are the rules:

  1. PM only. PM essays to the person who had agreed to review/exchange essays with you. Do not post essays here, especially before M10 decision.

  2. 1 essay at a time. Do not exchange your whole application with one poor person. First review one and then upon MUTUAL agreement send more.

  3. Effort on both sides must be equal. If one person spent a lot of time reviewing you essay, don’t reply back to them saying its good, put in equal or more effort.

  4. Constructive criticism only. Remember to be polite and not purposefully rude or defamatory.

  5. What’s sent in PM, stays in PM. Whatever a person has sent you in PM, essays, personal information, STAYS in PM. (This doesn’t apply if a person is not following the rules or is being rude, disrespectful, etc. If this is the case, post here (nothing specific) warning other people not to ask from a review from that user.

  6. Post requests in this thread, something like. “Looking for someone to peer review a short answer/essay” and then a potential reviewer can reply (be sure to tag the person who has requested it).

  7. Stealing someone elses work, or even a few sentences is PLAGIARISM.

For now I think that’s it, but more rules might be added later.

I’m a current bs student so I don’t have any essays to exchange but I would be more than happy to help other with their essays. I am an underclass men who just began bs this year so the application process is still fresh in my mind. Anybody feel free to pm me their essays! Best of luck to everybody:)

Parents/adults/current students are welcome… Just be sure to mention it like @cababe97 so that we know you are reviewing and not exchanging.

Also, if you want to have an exchange done and someone has already posted there availiblity like @HhopefulFforSsuccess2021 , @cababe97, @LilyPatrick , be sure to post back here saying that you are having ______ doing a review… Just so we can keep track…

For example:

@cababe97 would you mind looking one of mine?

And remeber that person can deny if they already are reviewing someone elses…

Also try to have only 1 rewier at a time so that you don’t hog them all :wink: lol

Yes of course! @Atria I am also reviewing Lily Patrick’s right now I I would be more than happy to do both. I think that it is also important to remember that whatever the constructive feedback is, accept it, but don’t change everything about your essay just because that persons says to. If you don’t get accepted come M10, don’t have hard feelings towards the reviewer.:slight_smile:
