2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@bugajskj I think they just want to see that you’ve stayed in the same range… so if you’re a 4.0 student I think staying at or above a 3.6 would be safe

I just received an email from the USC Financial Aid office with a notice of additional information required. Prior to this, my FAST page showed that my application was pending and no action is required. I still have not received an acceptance but I was wondering if anyone knows if this is an indication of acceptance. Please let me know.

@fightontom I just received the email aswell and I actually found out I have to complete some forms. Regarding your answer of whether it’s a sign of admission is as follows, “PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS: This notice is not an indication of an admission decision. Financial aid information is gathered and reviewed for all financial aid applicants, regardless of admission status.”

@raymundoboy Was it in the check application status tab?

Hi everyone, I am still waiting to hear from USC but I have been admitted to the University of San Diego! I think I will submit the enrollment deposit to USD since USC will not get back to me until most likely May-June since I am an incoming sophomore. USC is my top choice but I am excited right now about USD in case things do not work out!

It’s getting real hard accept the fact that I (and some of you) could be waiting an additional 2.5 months for a decision… feels like its’s been forever already, and it hasn’t even been a month lol

They really tell people mid july?? That sounds so stressful doesn’t give you any time to find a place to live or anything @penntousc

Yeah if I don’t find out until July I’m not going to USC.

@lasloth yeah they release a decent amount of decisions in July, because some people receive SGRs and don’t finish their spring semester until the middle-end of June… I’m hoping that doesn’t happen to me since I only have 2 weeks left and can send my grades in (if SGRed) mid May, but it has happened before. @pomeranian4rich sent his spring grades in mid May last year and was rejected in July, so that’s why it’s really a toss up

I don’t care when I find out though… if I get in, I’m going no matter the circumstances because I don’t have a backup and there’s no way I’m staying at my CC again if I don’t have to…

@fightontom @uscdream19 congratz!!! even though it says “this notice is not an indication of your admission” it actually is!!! A person last week was requested for additional information and was admitted a few days ago.

Post your stats here once you get your letter.

@pomeranian4rich if this is true and I see me admission letter/ portal update I will tear up

@fightontom Do you know what the form is called? In years past, people that saw an “ability to benefit” request in their financial aid portal were generally accepted the next day even though the email said “this is not an indication of acceptance”. Of course, if it wasn’t that form, then it doesn’t mean anything lol. I remember the FA office sending me emails the year I got rejected, so only the one linked that specific form seems to be a great sign.

I am pretty surprised there’s been no talk of any kind of “hacks” this year. I’m glad it hasn’t gotten that crazy yet :stuck_out_tongue:

@uscdream19 all people who were requested for additional information last year were accepted a week later!

@pomeranian4rich wow I find it ironic as I called the financial aid office yesterday and was notified that my SSN number was incorrect in the USC system. I thought this e-mail was somehow related to that. Anyways thanks a lot and I look forward I to receiving an admission notice soon:)

Am I like the outlier for everything? :stuck_out_tongue: I got emails saying I needed additional information, emails about action being required (for financial aid) and I was rejected that year (2014). Also, I seem to be the only person in any of the past threads that didn’t get an admission decision by their deadline of June 1st. They must not have liked me :expressionless:

@penntousc Are you the same like me? Going to an OOS CC with no back up? Hahaha people think I’m crazy. And I’d go insane if I have to stay at my school for another year…

@ashurikko yup, and I’ve gotten the same reaction lol… almost every single person I graduated with stayed in state, and the only big schools that a handful of people went to were Pitt and PSU, so when I say USC they think I’m crazy hahah

However this is only my first year at CC so I could stay another year, but I hate it because I have to commute 45 min 3 days a week bc my CC has more than one campus

I’ve already put down my deposit at my other top choice. I really want USC, but I don’t want to have to find off campus housing in mid July.

I am Korean who has Canadian citizenship.

I studied at George Mason University for one year and received 1.69 GPA. I am very stressed that I will most likely be rejected from USC.

I had depression and ADD, so I took a year off in Korea and went to see a psychiatrist to recover health.

Then I moved to Cal State University Monterey Bay and received 3.1 GPA. Total GPA is about 2.67?

I provided ADD medical certificate. Will this go against my application?

I am so stressed and worried that I will get a rejection letter from USC!!
