@mish97 I remember that at the transfer info session I went to they said that in state or out of state applicant status has no bearing on admission, because they’re a private. I’m pretty sure others on the forum have way more knowledge about out of state applicants getting admitted, though! Welcome to the waiting game.
@SCtrojanlove Hey! Im away at school right now and the package came to my parents house so im not sure how it was mailed but it was in a small box! and it was dated about 4 days before it came! Im from california but currently go to a college out of state. My portal was updated the same time the package came to my parents house so i heard from both the same day! haha
on another note, has anyone received a rejection or heard of anyone who has?
@usc2563 rejections are usually given out near the end of May, like June 1st. Don’t lost hope because they barely reject applicants at this point, unless the applicant has a really low gpa, poor essay, and etc.
why do i feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t heard back
@larue0712 don’t worry! you’re not alone.
Hey everyone ! does anyone know anything about SCA? I know it might take a while because of all of the supplements SCA majors had to submit. Did anyone from the thread last year get an acceptance in May?
Anybody receive acceptance letters for the School of Architecture? I recently got accepted into UCLA and idk if i should SIR yet.
@angeleno13 no clue, but i also applied to SCA! i looked in last year’s thread and saw that a lot of SCA acceptances came through in the last week of may i might have skipped over some earlier acceptances, but then again it didn’t look like a lot of SCA people were in that thread either
The letter was dated April 25th and it was priority mail USPS (I also live like 30 minutes away). Sorry for not updating my stats earlier I was out!
Major: Philosophy Politics and Law
GPA: 3.8
GE: None except english and math
In Progress: None, I am not enrolled in school this semester
Applied: End of January
I’m not sure what else to write but I’d be happy to share anything else people want to know!
I think what might’ve really set me apart is my essays. For my USC transfer question I basically wrote about how I wanted to start a mental health awareness seminar and help connect students potentially struggling with mental health to USC’s student health services and I did a lot of research about internships USC has to offer and wrote about those.
Just to be clear what comes first, letter in the mail or change in portal?
Has anyone been declined or know anyone who has been declined yet?
Same i wanna know too because i’ve just been refreshing the app status and it still says i have missing material even though i submitted it like at the beginning of the month.
@martym @bryanlchen it depends on where you live. 9/10 who live pretty close to USC will receive mail first. People on the east coast should also receive mail first or get mail and the portal update the same day. Most people do get the mail first but there are rare cases of portal updating first
Typically the portal will update about 3 days after the date on the package. But packages get sent out late/delivered late which is why some people get portal updates first.
@lasloth CONGRATS and thanks for posting
@MartyM i don’t think any rejections come out this early! i haven’t heard of any and last year’s thread didn’t start showing rejections until much later (but of course, i wouldn’t be surprised if people chose not to post their rejection…i know i would be too bummed to make it public)
@bryanlchen email them! just let them know you’re checking in on whether or not they were able to locate whatever is showing up as missing. sometimes they need a specific email or call to push through your documents sooner than later. that’s what i did!
@lasloth fall acceptance? Sorry for asking lol my GPA is a 3.85 so it is pretty close to yours. I am hoping for fall admission if I am given any type of admission at all and it really helps to see what the stats are of students admitted for fall!
@lasloth congratulations! I believe we have similar stats but different majors. Marshall or bust! I’m located 30 mins away from SC too, hopefully the request for additional info hasn’t severely delayed my application. Are you going to commit to USC?
why do viterbi applicants hear back so late?
I hate how USC takes forever to release decisions! I want to commit to a school already and I would drop UCLA in a heartbeat for USC. I can’t SIR yet until I know Forsure about USC. This wait is incredibly frustrating.
