2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@tankle104 I needed a parent signature, where my siblings were going to school and parent w2 forms.

@tankle104 @uscdream19 @angeleno @osu2usc have you guys received spring grade requests?

No I haven’t received spring grades requests @gatsby22 , but I also am not taking any pre reqs. So I’m not sure if I will. One poster did say there is still a chance I do though. I figure they wouldn’t bother with that.

@gatsby22 no I have not… I’m a junior applicant 3.75 Marshall with 7/8 ge completed and all pre reqs done. I don’t think I will be getting an sgr but rather a straight up decision

USC doesn’t accept any core classes that you took at another university huh, does anyone know this for sure?

@gatsby22 I haven’t gotten a SGR either

@tankle104 @uscdream19 neither have I. I’m a junior applicant as well, Dornsife.

@penntousc Heh, sorry for being a little confusing. I find that the financial aid office is pretty fast once you’re actually admitted. Before that, yeah, they kinda suck lol :stuck_out_tongue:

@gatsby22 It sounds pretty promising that youll be hearing something in the next day or so.

lol this last month is definitely the most excruciating.

@tankle104 I don’t want to get my hopes up :-S I would say the same for you, what school are you applying to?

Marshall. I’m actually close to finishing my business afmin and management degree but I’ve always wanted to double major in finance. So I want to transfer to USC to do it.

@zettasyntax lmao that explains it

@tankle104 as far as I know that sounds correct. There are exceptions such as financial and managerial accounting, etc. I believe macro and micro need to be taken at USC. However, if you have previously taken it and did well, they will see that you have good analytical skills and should have no problem with it at USC. Look at the articulation agreement between your school and see what courses you’ve taken transfer over for credit

@bugajskj

1- What is the hardest class you have taken?
The hardest class is either finance or operations. buad 306 and 311

2-How hard are upper classes at Marshall, compared to say…calculus 2?
Tbh there are no classes that are harder than calculus 2. Marshall classes are however memorization heavy.

3-Do you know anything about the entrepreneur programs?
Yeah we have one of the best entrepreneur programs in the nation. All the professors that teach the entrepreneurship classes still run successful businesses

4-Does USC help you find internships, etc…I mean really go out of their way to help?
I would say the career center will help, but you’ll have something called ConnectSC that will have all available internships for students

5-How are the resources to find jobs while in school?
Recruiting is pretty great at USC. However we lack investment banking recruiting

6-How are people at business school in general?
Not gonna lie the Marshall students are pretty cliquey, meaning it feels like highschool. However, you will find friends if you go out of the way to do so,

7-What is your schedule like on an average school week?
Mon-Thurs classes typically start at 11AM for me

@penntousc yeah I understand your frustration. I had to submit 9 documents to financial aid and I’m still waiting to see if I have to send more haha. Granted my financial situation is pretty complex

@tankle104 i dont know where you heard this from but USC does not offer a finance major

@dvalenc7 yeah mine is too, which is why I’m worried that they haven’t asked for more… I’m waiting for it to be like mid-June, finally get in, and find out I’ve got a million wrinkles to iron out with my financial aid application lol

@dvlance have you been accepted?

Still haven’t gotten anything. My Financial Aid status on the portal has said “Application in Review” since March. I applied to Dornsife: Anthropology. Anxiously waiting :-B
