@zettasyntax My STARS report says this:
Sorry your StARS record is not available!
If you are a Graduate student: Please see your ADVISOR! An application for degree has not yet been filed. A STARS report cannot be made available until your Advisor has submitted an application for degree.
If you are an Undergraduate Student: If you have graduated in your major, STARS reports are no longer available for viewing on OASIS. You may request a transcript of your record at www.usc.edu/transcripts.
and my interactive report is blank. But who knows, lol.
How long is it taking to get the Financial Aid information? The portal is updated to say I got in, but still no financial aid information. With the letter being written on April 28, when should the financial aid information appear in the portal? Is it usually within a couple of days?
Does anyone know if they look at your cumulative gpa or past semester?
@breenicport both, but recent grades are the most important
@tc20498 My first choice is Animation and then I put Media Studies as my second and I would really be fine with either. I would imagine that we get notified later because they have to look at our slideroom applications as well - but I agree it makes the whole thing much more stressful!
What major did you apply to?
@jae2017 Did you apply last year? I guess it’s not really worth it since it only gives you like 1-2 days heads up of your decision, but it was really exhilarating for me to find out that way, lol.
@frustrated55 It shouldn’t take longer than 3-5 business day assuming you aren’t missing any documents. Even then though, USC’s financial aid office works pretty fast. I’ve submitted documents the day before and in the morning, I’ve seen changes reflected in my summary.
I can tell that many people have left this forum (meaning they received their acceptances lol)
Haaaaaaa… I’m still here since I’m still waiting woooo
@zettasyntax lol I’m thinking financial aid has slowed down a bit… submitted a noncustodial waiver in February and the noncustodial profile application is still listed under required documents… even sent it in again in early April, nothing changed. When I email financial aid, they usually take at least 2 days to get back to me haha
@osu2usc nice! yeah, you’re right. i’m just now remembering all the extra slideroom supplements i wrote!
I applied to cinema and media studies as my first choice! my actual first choice is film/tv production, but i don’t have enough semester units to apply yet… still, i think cinema and media studies will be very worth it! my second choice was creative writing in dornsife. i know how competitive SCA is, so i wanted to at least have the opportunity to be admitted into dornsife in case i don’t get into SCA!
where are people getting the notification for an SGR? lol maybe im missing it
For reference, has it mainly been Dornsife and Marshall that’s found out?
@usc2563 Marshall applicant here, still absolutely nothing. Not even sgr. Pretty sure the ones that received decisions so far are junior applicants, I’m a soph applicant
Why I find comical is the requests for more information USC has asked me for lol
- My high school transcripts. I thought it was a mistake at first lol I graduated in 2010 and have a high GPA and around 70 credits lol
- The other day they asked me for a written statement explaining what I was doing in the gaps where I didn't attend school.
I sent both in. I like to think them asking for both are good signs, but idk.
@angeleno I didn’t get an email, I just checked the financial aid section of the portal on my own and saw that it said application in review. I clicked it and it said “Please visit Required Info & Forms to submit additional documents so that we can complete our review of your application”. I needed to upload three things, so I did that tonight. I’m trying not to get my hopes up.
Anyone applying for the health promotion and disease prevention hear back yet?
@gatsby22 Where did it say application in review?
@Transfer510 after I clicked “check the status of your financial aid application” I selected the years 2017-2018. Then, I saw “application in review”, underneath “eligibility checks” and “application started”. After I clicked it, I got the message that told me to submit three more documents.
@gatsby22 What were the three documents they asked you to submit? I had to do the same thing recently. I had to submit “Schedule D and form 8949”, “IRS 2015 Tax Return Transcript” and “Income and expense declaration form - Student”. Just wondering if those are the ones you had to do also.
@tankle104 I had the last 2 forms they requested for you and multiple others you did not list
