2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@penntousc congrats!!! I knew you would get admitted because you had lots of GE completed. Admit for fall or spring? XD

Anybody apply to Roski???

@jae2017 thanks!

@pomeranian4rich thanks! and fall!

Hey guys can someone please explain to me what SGR is and what it means.
Also is there any way to get an academic counselor at USC if I did not get an SGR?

Congrats @penntousc & @gatsby22!

@sophtransfer2usc an SGR is a Spring Grades Request. Generally, if they request an SGR, you won’t hear back until mid-July.

@HappilyFoodie thank you! what if they did not request for spring grades :frowning: does that mean they are no longer interested?

Congrats @penntousc & @gatsby22 !!!

@HappilyFoodie @ngujo96 thank you!

@sophtransfer2usc They’ll generally only ask for your spring grades if you’re currently taking one or more prerequisite courses. I got in without an SGR.

@Amaryllis85 thank you!

@penntousc congrats bro!

@bugajskj thanks!

@penntousc Yes. I couldn’t take the Writ 150 until second semester. Even then, Penn State adviser gave me difficulty because it’s considered a sophomore second semester class there. I had to get special approval from Professor.

hopefully there’s a lot more acceptances and SGRs going out this week. I mean like yeah there’s obviously gonna be, but hopefully to those of us who are still waiting. :slight_smile:

Edit 1000: I mean. Everyone is waiting. But those of us suffering in a group on the thread.

Okay I’m really starting to stress out. I have a 3.4 GPA at my primary college (ELAC), 4.0 at LAMC, 4.0 at LBCC. I have all but 2 GE’s. I am graduating with three AA’s and 90 units in total. (61 UC) transferable. I’m taking the quantitative reasoning requirement right now. I applied for Sociology as my first choice and Law, Society, and Culture, for second choice. Should I be expecting an SGR? At this point I’ve kind of just gave up on waiting lol. I am trying to start planning out how my appeal of rejection letter should look like. Lol

@darlenez I think any applicant should always be ready for an SGR. Just do the best you can your last sem and you should be fine, if you don’t hear anything by the 23rd ish, I would start getting ready for measures to appeal. But never lose hope till May 31st.

@darlenez in my document library, i don’t have the tab to submit an appeal. i was wondering if you had one there, mine disappeared awhile ago

where can i find the instructions on how to submit my spring grades because i got an sgr and the letter says that instructions are enclosed but there are none?? thank you in advance!

Congrats to everyone who got in!!!

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting on any sort of notification :frowning:
