hopefully everyone has visited and is aware of the immediate area and the financial aid reputation of the school. Neither are a secret.
As far as transferable courses go, admissions will look at the Tranfer planning guide for your respective major and will look to see what you have done. This is why Admissions has a much easier time with CC students, because alot of the courses are articulated and easy to compare. As for OOS students they simply look at the courses you took and go from there, most of it will transfer.
@Aurora7 Thank you. Good luck to you as well.
Spending $80 for the application fee to apply to a private school and then complaining about the cost attendance?
This is funny lol. All the information is available on the internet. You could have saved that money and apply to other public schools. Why bother returning the package with that note? It wouldn’t make you cool or self-satisfied. You’re just gonna waste your money and other people’s time.
@malpais many see the “meets 100% financial need” and dont realize it’s what USC determines. Usually a minimum of 2x your fafsa EFC. Some love their package and others are devastated.
@itslife123 In regards to your “admissions officer looking at our transferable courses” response, have you confirmed with a admissions counselor that they actually use the transfer planning guide as a way to efficiently see the GEs/ Major prep we took? (not that I’m doubting you but I’m really curious and fascinated upon that fact!) I’ve always thought that there was a wayyy more complex evaluation process for transferable courses!
@user98 A viterbi Counselor specializing in transfer, said that too me during transfer day.
As for the comment earlier aboout Viterbi getting 2 days before the deadline. I think we should just go cry at this point.
@itslife123 I really hope that’s not the case. Why are they so late on giving us a decision? It’s crazy
@stahboy We are one of the most complicated applicants, perhaps due to the fact that everyone will have different coursework…etc. For example, Marshall is simple in that If you don’t have that Calc1/GE’s, you’re out of the game. For Viterbi, some complete up to Calc 2, some up to higher level math classes, some do physics some don’t. So since they have a limited number of students they can accept, they need to really make hard decisions.
Honestly though I’m really concerned that I’m gonna get SGR’ed because not only am I not doing to well in linear algebra rn, I’m probably gonna hear back Late June early July. And who in their right mind can keep their sanity at that point.
@Angeleno23 did you receive an SGR or an aid update?
@itslife123 I have no sanity left at this point. Then again, I’m not in my right mind so… lol
@InTheNightSky95 Ya so much to worry bout, current classes, getting in, financial aid, difficult classes at Viterbi, social life. Smh lol.
Who is ready for another exciting week of checking the mail and being met with disappointment?
I can use AP credit to satisfy the Calc 1 prerequisite right?
@nayu917 I believe so. Idk bout Calc 2 tho.
lol that sliver of hope you get between 1:30am and 2:00 am, who needs sleep anyways.
@itslife123 This is horrible to say but I’ve already mentally checked out of this semester, haha.
@InTheNightSky95 same. I only have 3 more weeks of class but literally everything can be finished in 2 at the most. idk why the semesters dragged out for so long
