2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@rawrrxboo which school did you apply to?

@penntousc USC has a fee waiver so we don’t have to pay the expensive enrollment fee?

@SmokedHam as long as you’re able to provide some sort of proof that you’re low income and should be considered as eligible for the waiver, you can waive the fee. I just put down my health insurance contact info because it’s affordable health care, and the waiver went right on through and enrolled me right away.

@penntousc Interesting… I’m going to try that

@OCCtoUSC definitely doesn’t hurt, worst case scenario they reject the waiver and you have to pay it

@penntousc thank you for the quick response

@stahboy Dornsife econ

I just made my USC email account. Unfortunately the email was already assigned to me and it’s not that good :-w

@pomeranian4rich @penntousc I just spoke to the orientation office, they do in fact require business majors to take the math placement test regardless of previous coursework. From what the lady told me, it doesn’t really matter how well you do on it because the credits will transfer over anyways. Which makes me question why they even make you take it in the first place? :-/

I just got a USPS package alert!!! …from Ipsy. :\ Maybe this MyUSPS thing isn’t a good idea.

@dvalenc7 “Unfortunately the email was already assigned to me and it’s not that good” How do you mean?

Regarding the placement exam: that makes no sense whatsoever. I’m about to call and see if I need to take it as a physics major. I sincerely hope not.

@jae2017 - same, I got an email that a letter was coming (which scared the crap out of me because a letter isn’t an acceptance box), but in the end it was a congrats letter from UCSD

@Amaryllis85 your email handle is assigned to you. For example my last name is Valencia. The email handle used the first four letters of my last name, followed by “id” at usc . edu . It’s pretty atrocious and I can’t change it [-( . After you’re finished talking with the orientation office, let me know so I can verify what the previous person told me

Annenberg needs to release decisions like now lol

@SportsNerd24 I agree. I just checked previous threads and read that annenberg had 56 spots with an applicant pool of 700 in 2014 or something… annenberg is so small

@lanterngirl - Haha, now even junk mail will scare us!

@dvalenc7 haha, that is a pretty atrocious way of assigning emails…

@marcollege17 Really? I didn’t know that :\

@lanterngirl @jae2017 A few days before my package arrived, I got a letter from “Southern California Edison.” It was the freaking electric bill. But I saw “Southern California” on the envelope and about lost my sh*t.

Wishing you both the best.

@dvalenc7 Weird; mine’s just lastname at usc dot edu.

At my previous university, usernames were first initial followed by full last name. I knew of a student whose first initial was C and last name was Rapp. At least you’re not that person.

@jae2017 I definitely took an L with that email handle. I hope you get a better one than me if you get in. Best of luck

@Amaryllis85 you got the red carpet treatment! It must be an uncommon last name I’m assuming. The other student you mentioned took a worse L than me :)) . My previous university had a similar algorithm, first name initial, followed by the last 4 letters of your last name, and a single digit of your choice. Hence my username on here
