Just got a SGR, 26 year old transfer from an out of state public university. About 60 transferable credits. Dornsife applicant (English major). 4.0 at my current university, 3.2 at my last college (6 year gap between the two.)

@lexluther96 Alright, well that is a hell of an app haha congrats man. I hope you get into Cornell, Stanford, Brown and Columbia slides you in.

Admitted! Box came in the mail this morning but the portal hasn’t updated (although I think it said ‘Admission Decision’ up top instead of ‘Application Status’, but when I clicked it nothing was changed)

I am nervous about financial aid though, because I didn’t submit my collegeboard CSS (or whatever it was called) application back in March because I didn’t think I was going to get in…

Honestly surprised I got in considering that I did my application the very day it was due…but I’m so grateful!! Good luck and congrats to everyone that got in! Now comes the hard part…choosing between UCLA and USC. lol.

@tankle104 I work 40 hours too, but would prefer not to pay tuition. Haha! UCLA is giving me a grant for full tuition, so I’m wondering how much more I’d need to pay if I ever go USC.

Did anyone who got in receive a request for additional documents AFTER your financial aid application was officially placed under review? Mine was placed under review earlier today, just curious if I should be expecting additional requests

Yeah I got a full ride to an east coast school, including food, housing, and 2 grand a year for books and personal expenses. I want to go to USC but I can’t imagine them matching that or even coming close.

Has anyone gotten their decision with Whitney Rollerson as their counselor? That is who mine is.

For @dvalenc7 and anyone else who was wondering about placement exams:

I just got off the phone with a Dornsife admissions counselor. She told me that my transfer credit report (TCR) will be used to determine whether I need to take the exams. Per USC’s website, TCRs are generally available three to six weeks after commitment. I’m pretty sure all of my math and chemistry credits will transfer, so right now it’s looking like I won’t have to take the exams.

Note that other schools within USC may have a different policy.

@area21 Congrats!! Glad Marshall applicants are still receiving acceptances. Gives me hope!

Anyone here applying from Fullerton College?

@tankle104 Where do you find who your counselor is?

@penntousc late on here cause these chats are going so quickly lol… but congrats dude!! I remember august when this was all dead and I decided that Usc was going to be my priority I made my account on here… you were one of the first to give me advice… glad you’re in now. Hopefully I get in too in July !

Mine is either Bruce Grier or Natalie Guevarra.

Thanks for sharing that @jae2017 , it depends where you are located at. Mine is Whitney and i was just wondering if anyone has heard their decision with her as the counselor.

@pantafootball2 thanks! and absolutely, you’ve got great stats so I think you’ll be just fine, good luck!

@jae2017 that’s just for admissions, right? Is there a major counselor/advisor for admitted students?

@tankle104 Not yet /:

Just found out that the articulation office that reviews transfer students classes for credits is run by only 4 people. lol.
“It looks like you are getting a little ahead of the process. Please understand, we have thousands of incoming student records to prepare and evaluate, and I only have a staff of three people. We’re going to need a little more time to make this happen for you. While we appreciate your excitement and enthusiasm for getting started at USC, we also appreciate your patience with the time required to process your transfer credit. Thank you in advance for your understanding.”
so for those who are still waiting for your transfer credit report to be updated it will take a while lol
