@Skepta no, I go to a different 4 year in California because NYU is ridiculously expensive, I couldn’t rationalize going there when I got a huge merit scholarship for where I currently attend.
@Skepta Viterbi from the past almost always starts rolling admissions starting the 20th. So the 10 days before it rn is just torture for me.
@itslife123 my crush for USC is definitely crushing the life out of me… Hopefully it’ll develop into a healthier relationship instead of being another round of unrequited love that only makes me old and sad…
Sound I start investing in cats to keep me company?
@HarvardJones I really needed to hear this lol. I need to learn to kick back haha
@mellyjune if you don’t mind me asking do you go to SCU? l was almost gonna go there.
@darlenez Actually there are some factors you can control, and that is doing well your Spring Semester. In doing so you give USC a harder time rejecting you and a more of an incentive to accept you. Kick back, do well, and enjoy the thrill of this rollercoaster.
@Skepta No I don’t
Hopefully we will both be going to USC next fall though… Are you waiting to hear from Dornsife too?
@mellyjune yea applied to dornsife as an Econ major (sophomore applicant) honestly I’m just hoping for/expecting an SGR not even a straight up acceptance.
@itslife123 Ive kept my A’s on lock this spring semester lol but I just really need to commit somewhere else already lol :(( I’m just enjoying the end of this rollercoaster since I have three weeks left at my CC until I graduate!
@skepta I’m a junior Dornsife applicant. I used to dread the idea of getting an SGR simply because of the wait especially because of the fear that I would have to wait an extra 1-2 months just to get rejected at the very end… and I thought that if a straight up acceptance isn’t possible, I’d rather just get rejected right away so that the wait is shorter… but now… I’m hoping for an SGR rather than just getting rejected… clinging to the hope of still getting accepted at the end but junior applicants are more likely to just get straight up acceptances (PLEASE) or rejections rather than getting SGRs since we just have more coursework to show and typically have more stuff done with GEs and pre reqs… of course there are always exceptions…
If they accepted me right away though, I would grow wings and fly there (so, you know, wink wink nudge nudge TAKE ME USC) Still down to wait after an SGR and get accepted so…
That being said, seeing as how there was a person that got into Dornsife (there was a bit of a dry spell so I was getting worried…) acceptances are still being sent out so not to worry too much just yet…
@mellyjune there almost no chance that they will ask for an SGR from you since your a junior applicant, in addition going to a 4 year private university they know its more rigorous than perhaps a cc, so I don’t think their gonna have to see more grades to gauge how well you will do at USC.
@mellyjune I’m not sure what your stats were again, but I’m sure that you have a much higher chance of getting SGR’ed than Rejected. And you should have a good shot at getting accepted right away.
@skepta Oh I doubt that i’ll get an SGR because I’m junior, but I’m just starting hope for that because it gives me hope that I won’t be flat out rejected
@itslife123 I’ll have ~80 credits done at the end of this semester, including AP credit. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 because the lowest grade I’ve gotten in college was an A- which is honestly so annoying because some of my class make a 95 and lower an A- which I personally think is ridiculous. So in some classes I got a 95% in I got an A-… I don’t know I feel like the cut off should be like a 92.5% or 93%, 95% just seems like such a high cut off for me especially since my school doesn’t have A+
I’ve gotten like a 103% in a class before, but you can’t get higher than a 4.0 so I feel like its unfair…
I obviously care about my grades, but I’m normally not this sensitive about GPA, even though the 95% thing always bugged me… but applying for USC with such an intelligent group of applicants made me greedy for that 4.0 hahahaha
I don’t know maybe a lot schools have the 95% thing, but I don’t like it at all…
If I got a SGR and did a LITTLE worse my spring semester, are chances looking down for me? Do they just look at the GPA trend?
@juliamay2020 I have heard that many people are getting different conditions in regards to their acceptance
@juliamay2020 Last year, I got SGR in May and I did good my spring semester ( four As and one B (19units) ). And I got rejection around mid July…
@Oriolee UGH. So confusing
I think the majority of Dornsife hasn’t heard back. I feel like they are finishing up with Marshall first, and we should hear back by the next 2 weeks right?
@Oriolee did u ever ask why u got rejected? Id assume you’d get accepted with such good grades during spring
So my portal just updated with my admission decision but nothing about financial aid. For those who have been admitted how long did you have to wait to see your financial aid??
