2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

crossing my fingers that my portal will update today lol… I don’t know why I stay up so late when I know it won’t change, but hey, who knows

at what time does it update?

@Garciabusiness supposedly 2am

@uscdream19 27 more minutes. The waiting is killer

@SmokedHam nice user name, can you give us a few examples of those conditions please

Guys the portal updates at 12am no reason to stay up until 2am lol

@Garciabusiness not @SmokedHam but all it says about my admission conditions is this:
“Please remember that your admission is contingent upon verification of official academic records, satisfactory completion of course work, and avoidance of academic and behavioral misconduct.”

@BusinessBrah Idk man… in my experience, i’ve either always gotten portal updates or emails from USC notifying me of something important right around 2 AM… and I live on the west coast so I’m on pacific time, too.

@pianorite hm ok idk then man. I logged on like 11:55pm today and nothing then at midnight my decision was there so who knows.

@IwcWombat If they’re already finishing up with Marshall then that means I probably got rejected with still no decision :open_mouth:

@cassidylynnn I’m a Marshall admit. I had exactly 100 quarter units (~68 semester units) with a 3.9 GPA, all prereqs done, financial, managerial, macro, etc complete (all A’s) at my former university. I also had another 8 semester units (4.0 GPA) from a local CC and still got SGR’d! It certainly is possible even though you have great grades. My circumstances were different however and I was able to cancel the SGR that I received because it was not applicable to me as I took a leave of absence due to the credit transfer limit. What is your major?

Does Viterbi look at which courses are transferable after or before admission?

@greenpotatoe they can’t know exactly which are transferable until after admission, but they can get a pretty good idea of which ones are and make a decision based on that

Hi everyone. I’m an SGR applicant from Virginia. I’ve already committed to The College of William and Mary but my spring grades are being sent to USC today. I’m a Dornsife applicant and I was wondering how long it takes for an SGR applicant to receive a decision if USC receives my final transcript within the next few days?

@lopezito it can take until mid-July, but based on what I’ve seen in the past, you might hear before the end of May. Dornsife has accepted a good amount of SGR applicants in late May in past years

A little jealous that USC’s class of 2017 get Will Ferrell delivering the commencement. Not to get political, but I overheard on the morning news that Hillary Clinton and husband will also be attending because their nephew is graduating.

HOLY I GOT A PACKAGE COMING IN FROM USC TODAY. I cant even believe it. My Financial Aid updated yesterday asking for documents and now this.

School: Dornsife
Major: Computational Neuroscience (idk what major yet)

@IwcWombat nice!! Most likely going to be an acceptance since they also wanted more info for ur financial aid. Are you an incoming sophomore?

Incoming Junior with around a ~3.7 GPA. If you are Dornsife, I think the acceptance train is just starting
