2017 - 2018 USC Transfer

@AGoodFloridian That’s a crazy load lol

Accepted Marshall! Posting the stats on the stats page

@cool786 No but really, it hurt taking that many classes- it got too intense especially towards the end. 12-15 is a healthy amount. Honestly the only reason I took that many classes is to dispel the thought process that some “top colleges” have that any successful record in a community college is child’s play compared to a normal university. I had to show that I was challenging myself by taking a heavy course load. It was like chewing glass.

Was it worth it? Yup. Would I do it at USC? Hahahahahahahaha[…] no.

@AGoodFloridian I like the way you think, as long as your gpa isn’t suffering as a result :slight_smile:

@itslife123 You’re absolutely right- at the end of the day it is a very real gamble. When it came to Physics and Calculus, the interested ones in the class would do anything for the tiny bit of extra credit. A pal of mine chose to go to a Physics outreach event on Saturday for extra credit rather than the spend the day with his girlfriend…

on their anniversary.

The sacrifices were real, so I had to stay one step ahead. Take the oath of the Night’s Watch, if ya know what I mean. (missing Game of Thrones over here, weep)

@AGoodFloridian Tomorrow is the day, I feel it!

@itslife123 its so nice to see how optimistic you are haha
I literally try to be optimistic (and I obviously still am) but I’ve been feeling more and more despondent each day… :frowning:

Speaking of which, are decisions for Dornsife still coming out… (for non SGR people)

hey all I have two questions!

  1. do you only see your package in MyUSPS a day before it gets to you or when it first scans at a post office?
  2. I am still at my current school but about to head home next week, will the admissions office send mail to my permanent address by default?

@mellyjune Thank you! Honestly I end up being dejected by the end of the day as well, but I know the next day can be a better day than today. And apparently Friday’s seem to be pretty hype.

@itslife123 I’ve been taking it one day at a time, thankful each day the mailbox doesn’t have a rejection letter from USC. If there’s no rejection letter, it’s another good day, is what I’ve started to tell myself.
I get more and more nervous to open the mailbox though because before, it was hoping I’d be one of the people to get accepted early, but now as it gets deeper into the month, it also means rejections are coming.,. Especially beginning like next week

Are there a lot of us that haven’t heard back yet?

@ngujo96 I haven’t heard back yet

@mellyjune is the real MVP…always keeping it positive. thumbs up

@mellyjune Yes I check my portal each day too hoping nothing shows up. (Ironic right?) But this is because I know nothing on portal means No SGR which means not having to wait till July to get a decision.

Hahaha thank you @bugajskj
I feel as though this rough time has really brought out the inner “us” haha there are several people who have reared out the ugly side of themselves but for the most part, it’s been great to see how helpful and encouraging we, as a whole, have been to each other.

@itslife123 hahaha that was me, but a part of me low key looks for a SGR at least just so I know I haven’t been rejected just yet hahah

@ngujo96 haven’t heard back yet. It’s been a little less than a week since I sent my winter grades (there was a problem with my transcripts)

Accepted! Annenberg Communication Major! I’m just waiting for my financial aid packet now. Does anyone know how soon after being accepted we can expect to see our aid or any academic scholarships? Any and all help would be wonderful.

@hopeful0830 congrats! I was accepted on 5/5 and received my aid summary on 5/16. I’m thinking they will be coming out a lot sooner though!

@hopeful0830 Awesooome, congratulations! :slight_smile: So we’ve got an Annenberg acceptance!

It seems Viterbi really is the last one to dish out the good news, eh? :))

@AGoodFloridian The “good news” :’(…god I hope!
